I may not have been clear enough in my last post about a 'diaphragm' adjustment. The point I was trying to make (and with 26 years experience as a Manipulative Therapist who studied all forms of manipulation, including Chiropractic, on this issue I do know what I'm talking about!) was that the adjustment in question is usually called a stomach adjustment and is the same as that useby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've never heard this procedure referred to as a diaphragm adjustment. It is a stomach adjustment and is the same as that used for Hiatus Hernia. Some Chiropractors use the term Hiatus Hernia Syndrome to differentiate between the stomach pressing against the diaphragm as opposed to going through the opening into the chest cavity. It can be self applied and the link below describes howby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Recent posts on ginger for pac's really interested me as I often get these between 1.00 a.m. & 3.00 a.m when my heartbeat is just under 60. Last night I took a capsule with my 6.30 p.m. meal - 120 mg of concentrated standardised extract; (from 14,400 mg ginger root). My heartbeat was a bit faster, probably around 70, during the night but I still got the usual pac's which lastby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
When minerals like Potassium, Magnesium etc. are produced as food supplements they are combined with other substances. Potassium Gluconate is Basic Potassium (called elemental potassium) and gluconic acid. Magnesium Glycinate is elemental Magnesium combined with glycine. The important figure for us is the elemental figure and most companies make this clear. A few don't which is very confuby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy, Just a thought on your Potassium supplement. The largest amount sold in pill form is 99 mg so I'm assuming yours are listing the amount of Potassium Gluconate rather than the amount of elemental Potassium.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the replies folks. I seem to have found the solution - not a single pac for four days. It's a rather unusual solution so I'll post in a little while when I'm sure it's really working.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
FiveBox, Millions of people are deficient in Magnesium and/or Potassium and don't get Afib. Millions of people exercise too much and don't get Afib. Millions of people suffer from stress and don't get Afib. Etc, etc. This doesn't change the fact, as seen time and again on this forum, that large numbers do get Afib for these very reasons. Your statement that millions drinkby Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
There are varying views on high protein diets but back in my bodybuilding days it was common and those who followed it were healthy ( at least those who didn't take drugs - which wasn't so common then anyway). I was certainly healthy. The paleo diet is high protein and that appears to work. I have my own views on bananas and potatoes based on my own experience. Both are very high isby Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks for your replies and sympathy. There were no changes in diet, I never eat out, my salt intake is low, I'm at my max for magnesium and I've recently increased my potassium through food while maintaining my .75 grams by supplement. A possible trigger was drilling with an electric drill on hammer mode though is was just for a few minutes. My wife blames that because my last Afibby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
It's 6.00a.m. as I write this and I've been up for two hours having had no sleep. Last night was 3 hours of sleep in .5 hour spells; the night before 1.5 hours. The cause is PAC's with a difference a week after an 11.5 hour Afib episode. The week before they started was the calmest my heart's been at night for a long time but I'm suffering now. Shannon, N Ireland is part of the U.K which does have excellent Ablation Experts especially Professor Schilling. He performs over 200 operation per year and has been doing so for quite a few years. He has the latest 3D mapping techniques & uses the Sensei Robotic Catheter System However - the cost is high. I've just sent a request for the fee but I believe it's around £15,000by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for an excellent answer, Shannon. Because the slow Afib episodes have only happened three times in the 12 years (off and on for 2 - 3 weeks each time) and I can prevent them starting by exercising when the PACs start and the fast episodes have actually reduced recently - 4 years from the first to the second, 2 years to the third then once a year for three years and then 2 years and 8 moby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Recent posts have brought numerous responses so I'm very surprised that mine of six days ago brought none. Especially since:- 1) I was asking for advice and the Forum is very good indeed at providing this. 2) It was a subject that I thought would interest most members i.e. the difference between two types of Vagal Afib. I've really benefitted from the Forum and occasionally, Iby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
That'll teach me for mentioning how well I was doing two days before another episode! Let me start by defining what I call Fast Afib & Slow Afib, both of which I've had over the last 12 years. Both are night-time Vagal but very different & I don't recall this difference being covered on the Forum. Fast Afib:- Comes on suddenly. I had the flu shot for three years and each year I was in hospital with 30+ hour Afib attack. I haven't had it for the last two years and ..... no hospital! I had mild flu each year whether taking it or not.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Paul. I've checked again and see that Amazon have Phillip's Original Milk of Magnesium in stock again. This doesn't contain sweeteners or colourings. Ingredients are Magnesium Hydroxide, purified water & Sodium hypochloride. The last one concerns me as it is household bleach. Anyone any thoughts on this?by Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks, Erling! Now all I need is a U.K. source of Mag Hydroxide. No luck so far. Sometimes it seems that we're the poor country cousins here!by Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Magnesium Bicarbonate has been highly recommended recently for increasing alkalinity. It's very difficult to get in the U.K. Magnesium Carbonate, on the other hand, is available. Will it have a similar effect? Thanks Samby Sam - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
