The relative merits of RF and Cryo ablations have, I believe, been discussed on the Forum but not the benefits of doing both at the same time. Dr Richard does this in most cases. His reasoning is, and I quote, "By creating a second barrier by freezing, we have two concentric rings, which means we can block the signal permanently and reduce the recurrence". Barb, This link will show you a Chiropractor doing this adjustment on a patient and how to do it on yourself. One thing I would suggest is that you may find it easier to do while lying down. Total relaxation of the abdomen can be quite difficult in the seated position. Sam <www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lurmmWObB8> Sorry, that link doesn't seem to take us to the video. We use the same potassium, Peggy; Now Foods Potassium Gluconate powder. It definitely has 500 mg of elemental potassium per teaspoon. The 15% of daily requirement is confusing because of different ideas of what the RDA (daily value) is. I believe, like you, that the correct figure is 4700 mg per day but the NHS in the UK, for example, list it as 3500 mg. So just ignore the 15%. Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Peggy, One teaspoon of iHerb's Potassium Gluconate contains 3480mg potassium gluconate which contains 500 mg elemental potassium. Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sally, Your 99 mg tablets will contain 99 mg elemental potassium but 500 mg capsules always contain 500 mg Potassium Gluconate which is only 83 mg elemental potassium. I was fooled by these once myself some years ago. Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
I like bananas - they always calmed my heart. But if there's one thing I've learned over the last 13 years, it's this - we all react differently to different foods and supplements. Listen to your body. It certainly seems to be telling you to avoid bananas.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm afraid I can't comment beyond the references I posted. Hiatal Hernia is quite common and most Doctors automatically prescribe an acid blocker. The obvious treatment, it would seem, would be to correct the hernia. Chiropractors have a manipulation for his or you can Google 'Self manipulation for hiatal hernia' and find how to do this yourself.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Oops! Thanks, Jackie, it is, of course, d-limonene. I got it wrong, either because I'm so used to writing in my diary how much l-taurine and l-glutamine I use every day or because the years are catching up with me. Please be kind and go with the former! I found quite a few very positive references to it regarding acid reflux. The link below may be the one Dr Al Sears was quoting. D-limby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for taking the time to answer, folks - even if it wasn't what I was looking for! I've studied nutrition for forty years and nutritional advice was part of my Physiotherapy work so you can be sure I've gone through extensive food tolerance testing and eliminated those I tested positive for. Most us, I think, agree that Acid Reflux is a major trigger for Afib. It's something I've battled with for a long time and made great progress but could improve further. I don't get it at night any longer - a major step forward - but still have problems bending over within a couple hours of eating. Strontium Ranelate has quite a list of possible side side effects that should be checked before taking it. It's the drug form of Strontium. My sister has been taking Strontium Citrate (which can be bought without a prescription - at least here in the U.K. - and appears to have fewer side effects) to combat Osteoporosis and getting good results.by Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM

Marty, Did you add the supplements one at the time to see how you reacted to each one? Ribose put me into Afib twice when I tried it. All the others you mention help most people but each one makes some worse. That's why it's essential to add one at the time. That way you know which help and which don't. Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the website. Looks like a first-class gym. On the C7 injury. Have you tried going to an Osteopath or Manipulative Therapist to get a diagnosis/prognosis from a source outside mainstream medicine? I would certainly recommend that. Sorry, Louise, Exercising while in Afib is not something I can comment on. I have paroxysmal Afib and the one time I tried exercising during an episode, just walking up and down the stairs at home, I really felt as if I almost killed myself. However as far as permanent Afib is concerned if you Google "Can I exercise while in Atrial Fibrillation" you'll find quite a few Heaby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Noreen, You need to rethink your gym regimen. Too much training is a recognised cause of Afib. As a Gym Instructor the maximum amount of training I recommended was 45 minutes no more than every other day. If you want any more advice please let us know exactly what you do in the gym. I live near near two phone masts and decided to try Q-Link as protection against EMF's. About a week after starting to use it (beginning of October) I had a very unexpected Afib episode lasting 36 hours after which I called an ambulance and converted on the way to the hospital. I say unexpected because it was the first in almost three years and I've never had an episode at that timeby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wendy, I'm afraid I can't give you a definite answer on when to take Baking Powder. I've only ever needed it for night time reflux when I took it two hours after I finished eating supper. A Google search on best time to take might get you an answer. Don't forget to check whether foods like spinach and spicy types of lettuce are your problem. Samby Sam - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nancy, Glad to hear things are looking a bit better. I do think it's of the foods you've been eating and probably some supplements that have been causing your problems. You're question about why foods that didn't cause you problems in the past are causing them now is one that many, including myself, have asked without getting an answer. Wendy, I us an AlcaTech water ioniser which gives you a choice of pH as well as filtering and ionising the water. At around £700 it's not cheap but I've used it for about three years now and wouldn't be without it. Nancy, Two of the things you're taking made my acid reflux worse - HCL & Apples. You could well have low stomach acid. That is the case with most reflux sufferers. A recent post by Jackie caused me to think again about this; a subject I've researched a number of time starting about 50 years ago.
