thnx for your input, however now very frightened and panicky that they will find something awful as you implyby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
no that wasn't suggested, certainly sounds better than nuclear test =:0by anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
thnx I am pretty sure that is what I had done on my neck that showed blockage, I assume he wants to test other areas nowby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
well my cardiologist keeps insisting I need a nuclear stress test and ignored me when I said I would prefer stress echo because I don't want radioactive stuff in my body. He wants me to have it because ultrasound showed some blockage in my neck arteries so I assume he thinks I may have other blockage elsewhere (in the meantime am following Dr Esseltyn's protocol to get rid of or preventby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
thnx Carey needed some reassurance. I think my s-i-l had a fall which might have been the cause of the bleed. Rr CHADs I am female/80 and of course AF. Btw is it safe to take fresh garlic with Eliquis? I crush a clove onto a spoon, cover with raw honey and swallow daily as I have found it useful during winter to prevent colds/flu.by anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have posted before about my reluctance to go on Eliquis for fear of brain bleed, I did finally go on it. My dear s-i-l in England who had permanent AF and was on warfarin passed away this morning because of a brain bleed. I know its a different drug but now I am panicking again about being on Eliquis, perhaps because I am so depressed re her death and of course all the stress of the Co-vid19 bby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
that is very interesting Jackie. My AF was never connected to sleep, happened at totally different times of the day. However recent episodes seem to happen while sleeping on left side and I would wake up in AF (altho strangely these have been much less intense episodes) I started trying to sleep on my back or right side. After several sleepless nights I gave up and am back to the left side so wilby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
same here - AF caused by a holistic dr getting my TSH too low also was on "natural" meds (Armor) ended up in ER. That was 11yrs ago and for awhile only had an episode every year or so but have had more frequent episodes in past couple of years. Am on Levothyroxin 50mcg daily and blood tests are ok, I get tested every 6mths. I have Hashimotos so I do not take any iodine supplement but Iby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey will it be ok to continue my fish oil capsules, I hope so Quoteanneh thnx for your input, will not be as concerned about it now thnx Carey, so it won't put me in double danger of internal/brain bleed etc? I have also read that it actually only takes 40mg aspirin to thin blood and recommendations to only take baby aspirin every other day? No, it doesn't double your riskby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM

I see, so is there a relationship between glucose tolerance and clogged arteries?QuoteJoe Total cholesterol is relatively meaningless. Glucose tolerance without checking insulin response over a few hours can be misleading. Anyway, just my 2 cents.by anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
Joe, my total cholesterol went up to 180 after adding 1/2 avocado daily and eating more nuts and believing all the hype that good fats are good for us. Seems altho they are good they also are loaded with saturated fats. So for now will eliminate and get cholesterol checked in a few months to see if it helped. My diet is clean otherwise. Just curious re your comment about glucose tolerance, so farby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM

so have been on Eliquis now since 2017 for AF. Last week cardiologist said my carotid artery ultrasound came back "moderately" blocked on one side and that I should add a baby aspirin daily I am shocked at the blockage as my diet is plant based, I am slim and walk daily and other than AF at 80yo (F) I am in excellent health. My cholesterol could be better (180) altho HDL/Triglyceridesby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM

wow Carey and Daisy what great information! Will certainly insist on that insteadby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
good question, he said they needed to check to make sure nothing else was wrong with my heart as I have never had one done. I had politely refused (altho agreed to the artery ultra sound as that is non invasive). anne hby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
thnx for the info, will look into the Albion products, I feel that powder for sure gets in the system vs tablets/capsulesby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
thank you both so much, been praying hard for input so that I can sleep tonight so you are an answer to prayer. Makes sense that if something serious had been wrong they would have wanted me to get the test last year or even before that as it must have shown up earlier. Do you think I should get the stress test - hate the thought of the radiation injection - mainly because I am a health nut andby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
ok so now I am in extreme panic. Was looking at my cardiologist's report from a few months ago as he had suggested I have stress test. I see that he has written down that during my ECG it showed right bundle branch block with secondary polarization. This was never discussed with me, I have always been told that other than AF my heart is in great condition. After just reading this and lookingby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
originally was taking Cardiocascular Research Mag Taurate but ran across info online citing it tested high for arsenic Switched to Pure Formula Mag Glycinate but not sure its working so wondering if there is a powdered form of mag so one can bypass capsules/pills that is not fizzy like Calm? annehby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie where do you get that magnesium? I had been taking Pure Formula mag glycinate but now questioning how well it absorbs. Switched to Kal mag glycinate tablets but now sure how well that absorbs so was thinking of getting a powderby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
thnx Carey, he is everything to me esp since my husband died 2017. He is a registered therapy dog and brought joy to many people but have retired him now he has the cancer. He is currently doing quite well but prognosis is not good. We also see a holistic vet so he benefits from that too.by anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
I assume that the adrenotone and ashwaganda are both ok with Eliquis?by anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie what supplements do you find help adrenal fatigue. I really don't think I have a big problem with it, however I am easily stressed right now as my beloved dog has cancer and at same time I need to move from my home of almost 50yrs and downsizeby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
well I guess I could have a hormonal problem, I am abit sluggish etc when I wake up, not sure about my hormones as I am post menopausal, may not have any left lol. I do appreciate everyone's replies and inputby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM

well after no afib for over a year I had one this July and now 3 episodes in September. Each one in the mornings. I think the July one I woke up with it but these past 3 I have been wide awake laying in bed, getting up slowly and then BOOM. Usually episodes last anywhere from 3-12hrs (I take 25mg metoprolol tartrate as soon as I realize I am afib). I also take the usual supplements daily - magnesby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been vegetarian for 30yrs and in past year now plant based (vegan) with no issues. However I do take Taurine 1,000 mgs daily just in case plus of course B12. Re dogs, I make my own dog food and feel that the crap they put in the grain free dog food (tapioca starch etc) and the inferior quality of meat was the problem. I do feed my dog meat but I also include organic whole grains (and of coby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
sorry could not find my original info but it def stated that strokes can happen when you stop taking NOACs, a sort of rebound effect. I am wondering if, in that case, one would be safer to add Nattomax or similar product while stopping NOACby anneh - AFIBBERS FORUM
