Just a thank you for the comments and an update: Day 3 (Saturday) of presumed flutter... the forewarned potential pro-arrhythmic effect of the flecainide produced incredible dizziness & 3 separate periods of HIGHLY symptomatic afib... skipped the evening dose & by 9pm the dizziness ameliorated & the afib episodes stopped. After just shy of 14 years since a Natalie PVI ablation, I have just spent a day and a half in what seems to be A-Flutter... current EP suggested trying Flecainide for a bit & see if converts before considering ECV. Gill, thanks for initiating an interesting anecdotal review thread. Hopefully many will share their experience. Perhaps Hans might even do a survey. At 3 months post ablation (PA), my experience very closely mirrors yours... from anticipation to reality. I'm 65. Except for a very few PAC's, in NSR. It seems clear from anecdotal & literature input & personal experince that successful bolus dosing with flecainide for AF conversion is an art form. Too little or too slow or too late & the AF sustains. Too much and the risk of organizing & the conversion is to AFlutter.
