$75 and I was able to use my HSA card, which helped.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Goodness me, I know that ablations are still heart surgeries, essentially, but I am seriously wiped out! I have been completely useless and exhausted for two days! I keep falling alseep and finding myself just completely wiped! The ablated a large area on the right, crossed over through the septum, but didn't ablate on the left. They also had to give me heavier sedation and tube me becausby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have a Wellue, and it has consistently been able to diagnose my SVT, Bigeminy, etc. The Kardia never read it as anything other than Tachycardia. I agree with everyone else, but if you cannot find a Cardiologist or EP to talk with you and want to trouble shoot, consider looking at the Wellue. I just got the cheaper version and it has been fantastic. It is way more accurate than the Kardia. It hby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks everyone. I am a bit nervous about the fact that they couldn't get the site on the left. My PAC burden was at an average of 26% but it is unclear how much of that was coming from the Crista Terminalis site that they fixed, and how much was from the left site. We will see. I am hoping that if there is a bit of ectopy left still, that the supplement protocol might help with that. The NPby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
After months and months of misery, and my consult with Dr Natale,.I decided to proceed with a local ablation at Abbott in Minneapolis. It was a rough pre-op with Natale and my EP recommending anything and everything to induce the rhythm. (Do not try this at home!!). . So I had a Pepsi, took a Sudafed, proceeded to have dinner. Then had a couple of alcoholic beverages, stayed up most of the niby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have not noticed, Daisy. Mine is more predictably induced by caffeine, alcohol, cold medicine, soda, lack of sleep, emotional stress, and of course,.most notably, nighttime. I am more AWARE of it on my left side. But its not any better or worse in any certain position.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Despite being a nurse, I never really researched much on the actual induction process in the EP lab or understood exactly how that was achieved. I have since done lots if research because of my own lack of induction in two EP labs. I never really knew that the induction is made possible in SVT by the action of going from a fast to a slow conduction in a rapid time frame. I am including some artby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotegloaming Oh c'mon, Megan. You know darned well you can have an argument with hubby at the drop of a hat. >< >< Laughed out loud at this one......by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I got the pharmacogenetic testing as well, Daisy. It was fascinating! I discovered I am a rapid metabolizer of caffeine and the beta blockers (propranolol, etc). Super interesting.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
On a similar note, I have done some reading and discovered that Isoproteronol can severely deplete Arginine and Taurine, which I found super interesting. I will take a look at that book and look into starting a regimine. I have the ginger, and taurine already. What type of potassium/magnesium do you use?by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
It looks like sinus tachycardia at first glance. Inappropriate sinus tachycardia can also be a common occurrence after ablation. If you have a solid Cardiologist/EP, they should be made aware of your symptoms. They can always try a beta blocker or in my case, we used Ivabradine 6 months post ablation to treat the sinus tach.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Obviously I will have to ask she more questions about the plan. Thanks everyone!by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Atrial tachycardia actually can be a complication after an ablation for afib. What makes you think it is Atrial Tachycardia?by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm not exactly sure. He wants to induce it first because sometimes introducing the catheters will prevent induction of the Atrial Tachycardia. So he can pinpoint fairly closely where it is coming from before even hitting the EP Lab. I'm not exactly sure,.but I think he is planning to then give me some mild sedation, get the catheters in and then try to induce again,.but if they cannoby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have not identified any specific triggers other than nighttime. It used to start like clockwork every night around 6-8pm. Now it is all the time. I have to be careful with caffeine, cannot drink soda, or take Sudafed, or alcohol, or have stress . haha. But it happens regardless every night. And since January, it is now most of the day as well. I don't think it will be so hard this timeby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I have a specific and rare type of SVT, Atrial Tachycardia. There are three main types. One of the types is when the SA node sends a signal in a circle and at the AV node, it comes back to the SA node. The second kind is when the signal gets looped at the AV Node. My kind, Atrial Tachycardia, is an errant signal somewhere else in the Atria that is also sending a signal. In addition to the SA nby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jim! I have actually checked out the Nurosym. I have tried another vague nerve stimulator with a TENS unit, without much success, but always willing to look at other options!! I am determined to feel better!!by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
For me, it is reliably sleep deprivation, alcohol, caffeine (specifically soda), sudafed, emotional stress, and a big meal. Most if those are hard to do before a procedure. I can stay up all night and drink some wine. Maybe drink a soda in the morning....but I can't eat a big meal, take sudafed, or have an argument with my husband before hand .....by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the replies! Carey and George, I will do everything and anything I can to have a successful ablation! George, I would rather not NEED another ablation and would definitely be game for hearing your solutions. I have tried many things, but ultimately, even if I have another ablation, I need to sort out how to keep this from happening in the first place, so I would definitely welcome yoby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
I finally had my Telehealth Consult with Natale and Shannon on Monday. Shannon did her homework and had looked over all my records. She was definitely in my corner with the quality of life issues with my arrhythmia. Natale gave me some very valuable advice with the meds, and basically told me that none of them are going to work for my rhythm if nothing has helped up to now. He said to not botherby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
thanks Gloaming. I have tried Cardizem, Rhythmol, Multaq, Flecainide, Norpace, Metoprolol, Propranolol, Sotolol, Bisoprolol, Ivabradine... I think that is it. I had my consult with Natale. It was okay. He was very clear that probably none of the medications are going to work. He said I just need an ablation but that with my rhythm being so paroxysmal it is going to be super hard to catch and treby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks, Gloaming. I have pretty good tools at my disposal as an ER Nurse. Unfortunately, my heart seems to break through almost any beta blocker eventually. My SVT/Atrial Tachycardia has broken through Propranolol, Metoprolol, and Sotalol. So it is not a surprise to me that I would have to increase the dosage. My challenge is that the dose I need to stop the SVT makes me incapacitatingly dizzy.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ugh, and a day later.... Back into tachycardia and SVT.... So I'll up the dose of Bisoprolol. My heart just wants to beat fast....by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Have any of you done a Telehealth consult with Natale? I have mine on Monday and have received NO communication regarding how it works, if I need a special app., or how to actually get the call. They didn't request my records despite the releases being sent and I had to scramble to get stuff sent and barely got it all to them in time. My appointment is Monday at. 3pm and have no idea how itby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. I am definitely super sensitive to Beta Blockers. The challenge, of course, is that they also seem to stop being effective within a time. But for now, it is definitely a win. My heart seems to be more and more irritable, with near incessant Atrial Bigeminy, but that will make it easier if I have to go for an ablation. I've enjoyed walking up the stairs without being shortby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Almost ready for my consult with Natale!! I have been taking the liquid Bisoprolol and enjoying heart rates in the 70s, which is pretty awesome. I am still in almost incessant Atrial Bigeminy with runs of SVT, but it is still an improvement. Hoping for the best.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks everyone. Its not too bad. I'm trying he equivalent of 1mg twice a day but might even back down to 0.5 or 0.75 for a bit because I am super sleepy. So far so good.by MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
Took my first homemade Bisoprolol slurry tonight. The EP was totally fine with my homemade concoction to try a lower dose. . By by the way, dissolved Bisoprolol tastes disgusting..... am trying 1mg twice a day.... Megby MeganMN - AFIBBERS FORUM
