Thanks everyone, I will speak to my EP on Monday 7/17, hopefully he can reduce the Metoprolol. don't think he will give me Diltiazem as I had a reaction to it. Will let you knowby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you George, I have to check in with my EP next Monday so maybe he might reduce the BB in half.by Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a cryo ablation six weeks ago, I did go back into Afib twice, I now am on 50mg Flecainade, twice daily, 50mg Metroprolol twice daily and 5mg Eliquis twice daily and have been in sinus, my current heart rate is low 60's . I have read on other posts that if your heart rate increases ten beats thats ok and its more likely the ablation was a success. My heart rate is low as the drugs keepby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi hds Congrats, that's fantastic news. Are you on a trial? If you don't mind me asking, how do you go about researching PFA in Amsterdam. I was aware of PFA studies in Bordeaux, and the Czech Repuplic. Good luckby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi SamlAm, My EP said he would not recommend it for me as I was not persistent, This trial was sponsored by Farapulse from Boston Scientific. I was only diagnosed early February and the trial had closed at the that stage. I had thought about going to Bordeaux, In the following months everything was a trigger, tea, salt, sugar, cold drinks, chocolate, I was walking on egg shells. Nine episodesby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello SailorGuyI, I tried to get on a trial for PFA here in NYC, but my EP said I was not a good candidate, I think the trail had closed already. My friend at my gym did have the PFA at Mount Sinai in November, she is doing great, because it was a trail she did not know what she was having PFA, RF, or cryo. She found out later it was PFA, she is older with persistent AFIB. As I had nine episby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Ken. You are correct, I'm 52 fit and about 10lbs more than I should be. But reading through posts everyone is different, I just spent so much time researching the procedure that I honestly believed that post op would be easy, pain in groin, chest, sore throat etc, was not ready for the fatigue and zero energy combined with awful dry cough and shortness of breath. I really miss not beby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you so much for that info, I should listen to my body, and not rush it. I'm very active so I find it hard, but like you said I do not want to undo all the work that was done.by Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm four weeks past Cryo ablation for AFib/ Flutter, I'm doing ok. After, I had two episodes of Afib where I converted and I am now back in sinus. I am an active person and I love to hike and crew. I still can't do stairs and I struggle to walk up the hill near me. I still have a mild cough if I exercise and talk. The worst heartburn. I Know I'm impatient, everyday I hope to sby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thank you for your response, I believe I said the cough has not ABATED not ablated, My EP has put me on Colchicine again for two weeks and the cough has definitely improved, now I can walk and talk without shortness of breath, I converted back to sinus but he wants me to stay on the Flecainide until I see him next, however I will check in with him tomorrow as it makes me dizzy. I am still takinby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
My EP told me that my cough, shortness of breath was related to the inflammation around my heart post ablation, and some patients respond differently to the procedure, he put me back on Colchincine for two more weeks twice daily and my cough is much better. I'm still taking the Metopropol twice daily and now I'm back on the Flecainide which I hoped was only going to be for a pill in thby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an ablation, 15 days ago, had an issue two days later but I have been in sinus for over ten days. I did take Colchicine for a week post ablation. I am off Flecainide, I still have the bothersome cough with no edema or Sp02 96%. The cough has not abated, this morning I woke up in Afib, disappointed but I know this can happen. I read that there is a correlation between Metoprolol, hypotensioby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Follow up, I have been taking Beta Blocker and Eliquis since February, no issue there, but I had zero energy and cough with Flecainide, I'm off the Flecainide two days now, and I am in sinus but my cough is getting worse if I talk or walk any exertion at all, I did find a case study on cough and PE, now I have no edema and my So2 96% but the cough was the trigger in this case which can beby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm taking 50mg of metoprolol, and 200mg of Flecainide, prior to the ablation I was taking metoprolol and Eliquis, no issue with either of these, but the Flecainide is posing a problem, over the last four days, I have developed a really bad ticklish cough, which comes on 20 mins after the medication, its very problematic, I struggle to catch my breath, research into the wee hours on Pub Medby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am post ablation, I have read many posts that some patients did not take Flecainade post ablation, some took it for a short while and others are still taking it. What are the parameters that determine the duration and dosage of Flecainade. I only started taking this medication recently, I had an episodes of Afib post ablation, and initially prescribed Metoprol once a day, after the episodes ofby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I did not get any instruction sheet, except discharge papers with the meds. I am taking 200mg of Flecainide which makes me very tired. Its Day 12 now and I can't still climb stairs as I am so winded. I am scheduled to travel to Europe in August. I hope I'm only on the Flecainade for a month. I also know I am very impatient. On another note, one of my favourite bands is The Gloaming.by Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello there, I had my first ablation last week, after 9 episodes of Afib in April I decided it had to be done. I had a cryo went well, but I did go into Afib again the next day, and the day after ,went into sinus during the night and now I am on 200mg Flecainide. I have a very dry cough which only gets worse if I walk a little, The Flecainide makes me really tired and as I am back to work nexby Aoife5 - AFIBBERS FORUM
