Carey The ones that worked were Wellue brand but a previous batch. The ones from Amazon, the brand you suggested, now that I think about it, did not look like they came in original packaging. So maybe not an issue of the brand. Better luck next time hopefully. Megan Thank you! I will check those out.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey The odd thing is the previous batch of electrodes worked. Before I ran out I got a new batch and they weren’t working. So I went back to the old batch til I used them up. I emailed Wellue and they haven’t responded. The chestband is pretty good but PVCs look different and they aren’t as easy for me to identify as on the tracings from the electrodes. I’m thinking maybe the gel dries out.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey I previously tried ordering the ones from Amazon that you sent the link for. They weren’t good. I think the problem is with the electrodes because the Wellue device gives pretty good tracings using the chest band rather than electrodes. I was hoping someone who is using this type of electrode had found a reliably good source.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey I emailed you a pic since I can’t get my photos to upload here. Megan Thanks! We’re standing with you for your next step. JskeS I’ve had good luck with the Wellue for several years - til now, but I did not try the phone app. The tracings were for the most part good, but the analysis not so great. It worked better than anything else I had tried for distinguishing PACs and PVCs fby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Wondering if anyone knows a reliable source for this type of electrode. The last batch I bought from Wellue didn’t give good tracings. Wellue hasn’t responded to my email regarding this and a couple of attempts to order from random suppliers on the internet have not panned out either. It would be nice to find something with adhesive that was hypoallergenic but mainly looking for good traciby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Slempeckins Would you share what brands you are taking of Magnesium and beetroot? Evelynby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi all, If anyone taking ribose cares to share their experience I would appreciate it. Also, any info on how ribose affects blood sugar?by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Carey and gloaming Well, one difference is that ER 12 lead ekgs call flutter sinus rythym often. The machines are more likely to identify afib correctly I think. Actually, my EPs ekg AI analysis also called flutter sinus, the difference is that (unlike an ER doc) a cardiologist reading a 12 lead ekg will correctly distinguish. Hopefully. For sure an EP would. Will an EP nurse? Noby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wondering why my cardiologist didn’t seem to make much of a distinction? Rather tended to lump the two together. I say my cardiologist because, for me, talking to the actual EP has not been much of a thing, and EP nurses have not seemed more knowledgeable than my general cardiologist. I remember my GP once said that flutter never lasted long, but I have not found that to be the case. Does it mby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good news! Care to share which brands and how much you are taking for the BCQ and the GABA/Theanine?by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have noticed mine was at 55 (low rate)85 and 170 (top rate) two months ago now it’s at 50 78 160. I understand this is not unusual and can continue to slow down months or years. Assuming you wait that long. Does anyone know why? Does it have to do with the shape of the atrium?by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for posting the article. It would have cost me 20 bucks to read it! What stands out to me is that the author points out that there are “factors likely to drive variability at the patient level”, and suggests “Simple discussion with the cardiologist and the patient may allow for an adjustment” of dosage. I think the lack of ‘room for discussion’ is what generates the sense of tyranny.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks all! Will try the suggestions for bumping up K and push my GP to test how they work on me. Also watch my kidneys. I went and looked at thyroid trends and yes thyroid levels have been getting lower. It will probably take a month to see an endocrinologist, but I will pursue that. I think may sister knows one.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Afibbers Several recent trips to ER - so several recent metabolic panels. Potassium has sort of crashed. This is a pretty bad thing, because besides persistent flutter I get LOTS of PVCs (especially when I eat.). I would appreciate any help understanding why the potassium is lowand how to fix it. My guess is diet. Or possibly Diltiazem. All my other metabolic stuff is normal. About a month aby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting. They only did this once on one of several recent trips to ER. Another time they had a hypo all ready to inject but I was slowing down on my own fast enough that they didn’t need to inject it. But the time they did do the “push” it sure didn’t seem like 8 minutes. Maybe my sense of time was a little skewed.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Susan Hmmm. They gave me a 10mg Diltiazem injection in a vein in the ER the other day and I went from 170 to 85 bpm within five minutes. Then it was just a matter of waiting an hour til my hr was 55. How big of a dose requires an 8 minute push or an IV drip?by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello all I have very little experience with rate or rhythm meds for afib/flutter because for 3 yrs a really low dose of metoprolol was all I needed for paroxysmal afib/flutter. Things changed suddenly about 3 months ago to a 24/7 persistent flutter that I couldn’t just live with because the top rate was 150 and the low dose of metoprolol couldn’t keep it down. I had an ablation but flutter caby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wish I could read the article but I am not a medical professional. Here’s my 2 cents anyway. I say 1/4 metoprolol 25 tablet is therapeutic: My cardiologist says “why don’t you just lick the tablet?” My previous EP says “take medication as prescribed” My previous EP NP says “at 1/4 tablet it doesn’t matter if you take or not it’s not doing anything” My new NP of my new EP (Dr Natale) saysby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
In response to mjsmesone Me too! 1/4 of a 25 mg metoprolol tartarate tablet was therapeutic for me. I do not take Flecainide or other antiarrythmics so I don’t know about that aspect, but I used to take metoprolol (1/4 pill) to help me convert from afib to NSR. It also helped with eptopics. Doctors had a hard time believing me, but everyone responds differently to drugs.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thankyou Johnny S I will try the coenzymed B complex.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Meagan Very sorry it’s so rough. Does the type of ablation you had have a “blanking period”? In other words, do your doctors think there is any possibility that any of the arrhythmia may resolve? My cousin was in afib two months straight after his ablation, then converted to sinus and stayed there. That was kind of unusual I gather.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Johnny S Thank you. I think B would probably help but the supplements I’ve tried have given me indigestion. With me indigestion sometimes becomes extreme. I once tried a liquid form- it was hydroxocobalamin- but I read it reduces nitric oxide which is supposed to be good for the heart. Also I was once told by a functional medicine doc that I might have a methylation problem - B vitamin wrinkleby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Johnny S Thanks for your reply. Is there a specific connection to. B vitamins? I know they couldn’t hurt but I’m trying to reduce the mystery of the condition wherever possible.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi All Just wondering if this affects vagus nerve? Or something else? I tend to low blood volume and blood pressure so maybe that. I’m wondering because I’m trying to understand vagal influences of afib better. Also lying flat on my back and raising my legs/feet has the same effect. Also spell check changed “bigeminy” twice. Once to Big Emily snd once to Bogeying. What an imagination spellcheby Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for your reply FibberMcGee I am being cautious and started taking 250 mg Taurine an hour before each 40mg Diltiazem - so 1000 mg Taurine/day. I have low blood pressure naturally so I have to watch it. If my BP stays up I’ll try increasing Taurine.by Evelyn - AFIBBERS FORUM
