57, M, 1, 4.5 weeks I had my index ablation done by Dr. Natale 9 weeks ago. I have been in NSR for 4.5 weeks as of today. During the first 4.5 weeks post-ablation I was in NSR most of the time, but had a few occasional episodes of afib lasting a few hours, however one episode was about 2 days long. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I will assume all is well unless I get sudden onset of a very regular heart rate around 150 (that would be A-flutter, or at least one presentation of it). I am in the process of changing jobs and moving (thanks Covid-19) so that is why I haven’t yet established a relationship with a new cardiologist to manage my after-ablation care. Does A-Flutter HR vary with exertion? Is there a way to determine if I am in A-Flutter based on my heart rate’s response to exertion? That is: We all know that when in NSR the HR goes up with exertion in a dose-response manner. Does A-Flutter do that too? Smackman: Last month I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days in order to start Tikosyn. They also started me on Metoprolol. My heart rate was too high (spiking to 170s when I got up to use the bathroom) so they added Diltiazem (extended release) 120 mg PO QD.
