I have a procedure coming that I may need a spinal block. I read mixed reviews on stopping aspirin or not for a spinal saddle block. What are the dangers of stopping aspirin during medical procedures following a watchman implant? I am in my 4th year with a properly placed watchman. Ronby ron - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a tooth removed and an implant while on Eliquis with no problem with excess bleeding. The Doctor wasn't concerned at all that I was on Eliquis.by ron - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sam, I took amiodarone 10 years ago after lung surgery before my ablation. I did not notice what you are describing. What I do remember is that drug has some nasty and lingering side effects. My Doctors had me taper off the drug over a one month period. The drug stays in your system long after that. I would go thru my Doctor before any changes to taking the drug. Next week, I will review my TEE results with my new EP. This was my second TEE. Other than the emptying velocity and smoke, I read that the A wave or maybe the EA Ratio is also considered. What is the number that is considered OK for that ? Also under consideration is that this is a pretty new program set up with Boston Scientific just this year. The EP hasn't done a lot of proceduresby ron - AFIBBERS FORUM

My Dermatologist prescribed a topical called Fluconazole. It needs to be applied once a day along with a Antifungal Powder applied every 3-4 days to the shoes. It seems to work to prevent fungus on the new nails coming in. I have been doing it a couple of years now and am 75% better. My toenails seem to grow very slowly. I stopped for awhile and am now back on it. I would say it is worth trying.by ron - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I am working on watchman approval thru Austin. I have a chad 3 score, left appendage not working as good as it could, 77 years of age with prostate surgery on the horizon that I will need to be off Eliquis for a day or two minimum.. A few years ago, that would have been enough for approval thru Medicare. Not anymore ! They tell me I need to establish a need to be off a blood thinner for an extendby ron - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dennis, I had a score of 34 after my only TEE. He told me to come back and re-check in 6 months, that was 3 years ago. I am on schedule for the 2nd TEE this summer. Better late than never. I might consider a half dose of Eliquis if you can get a local cardiologist to prescribe it. You will probably need to touch base with him once a year though to renew. One question though....Why would youby ron - AFIBBERS FORUM
When I started Flec, 300 mg as pill in pocket, I started in the hospital at my EP's request. I have never had any issues other than AFIB shown in any of my previous heart test. I have no structural heart problems. It wasn't a big deal. I just went into the local emergency, was given 300mg flec, and went home a couple hours later. Zb3, I took flec for a long time, first as a pill in pocket and then on a daily basis. I was allowed to take up to 300mg in a 24 hour period. When I was on the maintenance dose, I took it a couple hours before bed, I usually got my afib at nite. I am currently on Eliquis after my left appendage was ablated 2 1/2 years ago. I had considered a watchman, but up until now was mostly content with Eliquis. OK Page, I have a question about the study. What did the team from TCAI tell you ? What stands out in the forms from TCAI that would be worth mentioning ? Whitehaven, I took coumadin for 6-7 years needing 56-68 mg weekly to stay in inr range. I included lots of greens in my diet and did take K2 as MK7 during that time. Smackman, You ask, "Why is Coumadin such a bad choice ?
