Giving up smoking for the 2nd time since I was diagnosed with afib last year, this time for good hopefully. Since I quit I've been having more skipped beats, or palpitations during the day, more than 10, where as I used to have maybe 1. Been happening for 2 days now. Had my first cardioversion done last September, since then I've been out of afib, but I now will experience random skipped beats, doesn't happen every day, just really out of the blue. Feels like eternity when I feel it which makes my anxiety go up like mad. Currently on diltiazam 30mg and still fairly young at 30. So I just got the flu on Monday and Tuesday and Thursday I started to feel my heart having palpitations or skipping beats every so often. Since my cardioversion I've felt these almost every day but only once or twice a day. Is this just cuz I'm fighting this bad flu?by tango232 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes I've had a stress test and it was fine, ran for almost 2p mins till I couldnt run anymore. Had an echocardiogram before I had the cardioversion and it was fine. The meds I'm on now are working but sometimes I'll still feel a flutter or really fast beats. When it happens my anxiety just takes over. I'm 29 and just got diagnosed with afib back in Sept. Lasted for 7 days till I had a cardioversion. Everything went fine, but now I have a flutter every now and again, starting taking diltiazem and I dont have, or maybe feel them anymore, but tonight I had an episode where I felt my heart beating fast and hard for what seemed like forever but was probably just a second or two.
