Metoprolol was one of the drugs the VA put me on when they created the Afib I had. It did nothing but make the sessions more intense. My heart felt like it was going to explode out my chest like the little alien in "Alien." As long as this was happening my whole day was ruined. I could do absolutely nothing but sit and wait until it was all over. The sessions usually took 24 to 30 hoursby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've tried every suggestion I get to convert the fibrillating heart to the normal sinus rhythm and nothing has worked for me. It's such a nuisance to go through these hours long sessions. There are things I'd like to do but can't, including reading or going shopping but have to wait until it's finished. Since Afib is such a pain in the a** maybe this will work.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is anyone familiar with Ilan Kedan, MD a cardiologist in Los Angeles? I have an appointment with him. He's got a lot of positive reviews.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
You're lucky that you got a doctor that wanted to do something. The VA is big Pharma's dream. All they ever do is prescribe drugs. That's L.A. and maybe all of SoCal. I don't know. I met a doctor who had his internship with the L.A. VA and he said that they are at least 30 years behind times. I'm so sick of blood thinners. I told the nurse "I want off of blood thinneby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I read of the effectiveness of both types of ablation. The RF ablation is stated as being about 70% or so effective. That is why often there needs to be more interventions. The second is cryoablation. What I've read, it is supposed to be about 90% effective. But check it out. Search: cryoablation for Afib.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's not what I'm talking about. Blood thinners can also cause other problems on their own. Seems the drug companies are more into maintaining a problem than finding a cure. Blood thinners don't make the heart better. I had posted before that there was research into a plant flavone called Acacetin. It was found that it could cure Afib in lab animals such as dogs and etc.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
According to WebMD saffron can interfere with blood thinners or BP medications. Check with a doctor.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
The Afib I have was caused by medical incompetence at the VA. I was prescribed hydrochlorothyazide for hypertension (which, BTW I didn't have). It caused tachycardia within 2 weeks. I should have been immediately taken off but wasn't. So, after a night in the ER within another 2 weeks I was back in there and the idiots in the ER didn't have enough common sense to check out the sideby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
There is a new drug coming. Look here:by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
It was prescribed for me after the VA refused to take me off Hychlorothyazide which caused tachycardia. My heart felt like it was going to explode every time I had a bout of Afib. In fact, it made the Afib worse. I began using Dr. Stephen Sinatra's protocol and that helped a lot, especially the d-ribose. From what I've read about Metopropol it will either work, make the Afib worse or doby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was around 190 pounds. This wasn't the first time that happened. I dropped down the first time to 165. This time I approached it differently. I knew that fasts were good for the system so I decided to go on 2 fasts per week. My fast days are Monday (after the weekend) and Thursday (before the weekend). That doesn't mean I pig out on the weekend. My calorie count is usually averages abby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've looked into the comments of people who are taking Eliquis. What I found was that most don't like it and there have been deaths of people on it. In fact, the lawyers are circling already setting up class action suits against Eliquis. Also, since the drug has been into the public there are side effects that aren't listed.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was emailing with a guy in New Zealand and he was paying $30 a month for Eliquis. The high prices in the U.S. are to take up the slack from those really inexpensive costs in other countries. I've looked into the comments of many people who are taking Eliquis. Most of them don't like it. Like many things you mainly hear from the people who tend to get relatively positive results. The new year has not been good to me. It began (on the 1st) with a bout of Afib that lasted around 12 hours or so. Then, a couple days later and a couple days after that (now). I've tried all kinds of ways to stop it but nothing seems to work. Usually, I get bouts of Afib around 4 to 7 weeks apart. I haven't had then this close together for quite some time. I found the trigger and wasby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM

When I was an undergrad some (xxxxxx years ago) I was wondering around the school library. I found a book and read in it that there actually is a ration attached to the placebo effect. I wish I could find that book again but time goes on. I have never forgot that ration: 1/3 of people will feel the full effect of what the placebo is supposed to do; 1/3 will get some effect; and 1/3 will get nothiby alxndr01 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I've been fasting two separate days a week. I was around 190 pounds, which was too much to bear before I started the fasting. I slowly lost weight and now it has been something like a year and a half and when I weighed myself yesterday I was 155.7 pounds. I usually am around 160 pounds. So, that's a loss of for sure 30 pounds. If you are using the 5-2 process don't have the two dayby alxndr01 - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I've been doing research concerning newer methods of treating afib. I've found that the newest method of treating it is a minimally invasive procedure of attaching what is called the "Atriclip" to the Left Atrial Appendage. Then, the amputation of the LAA may be performed. One interesting side effect of this amputation is a drop in Blood Pressure. The Atriclip was FDA approvedby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
