Kind of makes you think that the doctors are in cahoots with the drug companies to keep us using. I've sent a lot of this sort of information to cardio at the L.A. V.A. hospital and they bluntly told me they weren't interested in it. Sad. The ex-military needs to have the best and the newest approaches to those who put their lives on hold to be there when their country needed them. Butby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone have the links to the studies that discuss the LAA and BP? alxndr01@hotmail.comby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've gotten some really good results with Dr. Stephen Sinatra's protocol. You might try adding it. I have an 80-page monograph (cost's $20 over the 'Net) was sent for free. If you want a copy, I can send it to you. alxndr01@hotmail.com.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Try adding d-ribose. The Metropolol made the Afib I was having even worse. I went to Dr. Stephen Sinatra's protocol and it helped quite a bit. With the d-ribose, a natural supplement that athletes use to control heart rate the A-fib calmed down dramatically.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had nothing but problems with Metoprolol. I consider that stuff deadly. It made the incidences of Afib more intense and quite draining. My heart felt like it was going to explode through my chest. It wasn't until I began using d-ribose that the intensity of the Afib calmed down. Now, when an episode of Afib occurs I have to check that it is happening. I still think there is something betteby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
There is another approach to the LAA. It is rather recent. It is tying off the LAA from the outside. It involves coming from the left side through the ribs.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had been emailing with an Afibber in New Zealand. He had been getting his prescription for Eliquis for around $30 a month. It's over $400 in the U.S.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've read a lot of material from those who have used RF and Cryo-. RF seems to have about a 70% success rate while Cryo- is around 90%.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Actually, every one of the drugs used for hypertension has arrhythmia as a side effect. So, can amlodipine cause Afib? The answer is pretty much yes.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
You better be sitting down for this. I had been emailing with an Afibber in New Zealand. He pays $30 for a month supply of Eliquis. In the U.S. it is over $400. He thought the high cost in the U.S. is ridiculous. So, it seems the high cost for drugs in the U.S. supports the low cost everywhere else around the world.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Have you noticed that one of the side-effects of Metropolol is arrhythmia? How can something that has the side effect of the same thing you're trying to control actually control that same thing? I did not have a good experience with Metropolol. I consider it deadly. It wasn't until I got off of it and began using d-ribose that the Afib episodes calmed down.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Even if it works perfectly it will still have to undergo testing in the U.S. before the FDA will ever approve of it. This happens all of the time. Drugs or protocols that are used in Europe for 25 or more years don't get approved by the FDA because testing was never done in the U.S. Apparently, it has to be from "American ingenuity" have a high monetary potential for an American drby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Actually, some formulas for Chinese medicine use poisons but in small quantities. The ancient king Mithridates felt that there were those who were trying to poison him. So, he made himself immune to poisons by taking small amounts daily until he built it up in his system. I'm stuck with rat poison as well. I figure if someone is going to try to poison me they'll have quite a task set beby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Stephen Sinatra's protocol is a good one. Instead of Metoprolol he recommends d-ribose. There are no side effects with the latter as there are with the former. • Fish oil (1–2 grams) • CoQ10 (100–200 mg) • L-carnitine (1–2 grams) • D-ribose (5–15 grams) • Magnesium (400–800 mg) • Potassium (500–1,000 mg) • Calcium (500–1,000 mg) • Hawthorn berry (500 mg two to three times daily)by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was looking into Eliquis but instead of checking out the PDR or what is written about it I looked into what those who were taking it thought about it. I must say, what I found wasn't very encouraging. Few thought it was worthwhile. Most were disappointed, didn't like how it made them feel and wanted off of it. There were even reported deaths with Eliquis. So, the guy riding the bicyclby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Check out Dr. Stephen Sinatra's protocol. He recommends d-ribose and it helped me quite a bit. Metoprolol caused me more problems than it was supposed to. BTW, how is something that has a side effect of arrhythmia supposed to control the heart rate?by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was put on Metoprolol along with "rat poison." This is considered the "tried and true" approach to a-fib. The Metoprolol made things worse. It wasn't until after I took myself off of that stuff (that's being nice) that my heart quit trying to force its way through my chest. Metoprolol is supposed to control the heart rhythm. It did nothing of the sort. I found tby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone know of research being done using Acacetin, a plant flavone on Afib? Some basic research was done in China ( , ). The initial research was very promising and I have read nothing since. Acacetin has been found to be very effective with breast and prostate cancers actually killing cancer cells. (Google: acacetin cancer.)by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
The thing I like about Dr. Sinatra is that you don't have to buy his supplements. I get mine from the Internet. The d-ribose I get from Amazon by the kilo. It is $39.00 from Dual Health. I take 5 grams 3x a day. Dr. Sinatra also sent me his 80-page PDF that he wrote for free. It's $20 from Amazon on Kindle. It contains a lot of heart health tips that many doctors don't know. I've used Dr. Stephen Sinatra's protocol which includes d-ribose. The VA put me on coumadin and metropolol. Metropolol is supposed to balance the heart rate. With me, it made the bouts of afib worse. The more I complained to the VA about what was happening the more stubborn the "health care professional" became. It wasn't until I took myself off metropolol and began usingby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had both a nurse practitioner and a doctor at the VA tell me at different times that if I didn't take the drugs they prescribed I'd have a stroke and be an invalid with people taking care of me for the rest of my life. Now, THAT'S healthcare. Yeah, right.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I know that now. If I was more aware of my rights as a patient I would have told the NP to take those pills and stick them were the sun don't shine. But I was concerned because my father had HBP and my older brother was dealing with elevated BP as well. Doctors need to realize that the worst thing a patient can do is fire them.by alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thing is, I'm not taking the calcium. I really like the d-ribose, the CoQ10 (Ubiuiol), l-carnatine, fish oil (krill oil), and the magnesium (taurate). I saw a pain specialist this week about the pain in then neck (other than Congress) and my lower back. He was at the VA probably as an internist so he was familiar with it. He agreed with me about the incompetence throughout the system. I realby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am also new to the forum. Well, here is my story. It all started with the VA. As far as I'm concerned the VA is a pathetic excuse for an HMO and HMOs suck. Some years back I had been going to the VA for a yearly physical and was doing quite nicely. The VA's general practice is mainly done with nurse practitioners, not doctors. I was given a nurse practitioner that was set on finding sby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had been diagnosed with Afib some time back (you don't want to see my story). Anyway, I've been on Coumadin since the diagnosis. The nurse at who oversees the Coumadin clinic told me to stay away from cranberry juice. It is a blood thinner. I found that to be true. A couple of months ago I was drinking a mouthful of cranberry juice every day or so and sometimes a couple of times a dayby alxndr01 - AFIBBERS FORUM
