Thank you GeorgeN. I think I know what you are saying and I really think it is not afib but I will have it checked out.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi! I had an ablation in June, 2021, and have been afib free until the past few days. I am getting skipped beats constantly, either 2 beats and skip, or three beats and skip. I always thought this was irritating but not afib but my apple watch is saying that some of the time it is afib, sometimes inconclusive, and sometimes NSR. It all feels the same to me and does not feel like afib. (I was aby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had my ablation June 29, and had a couple of really rough weeks afterward. The last episode stopped on July 13 and I have been afib free since. Just after midnight I awoke to afib again, which lasted until 9:00 when I woke up and found that it had gone. I know it was still going strong at 6 AM. I've read that afib after 4 weeks post-ablation can be an indicator that the ablation was notby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
This last episode of afib, flutter?, tachy? started Saturday evening and stopped this morning about 6 am, so about 56 hours if I did the math right. I only took sotalol twice at the beginning. So I'm good for now, but am fully aware that it may be back. Ablation was 2 weeks ago today.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yeah, I have been messaging them, but a long response time. I am still in afib and tachycardia since Saturday, so going on 48 hours. Today the nurse did call and said that I can take sotalol but that they don't think it will help, but if I do take it regularly, twice a day, they want to do an ecg in 3 days. Otherwise they say all of this is normal and of no concern. They think the tachycaby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I couldn't reach them Friday. I had the pauses on flecainide. Have not had a problem with sotalol except it wasn't working as well lately. When the doctor released me from hospital he said kind of as an after thought, I think I'll take you off sotalol. Didn't sound like a serious decision, certainly not a warning. I have none of those conditions you mentioned. I know I shby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've been in Afib since last night at 10, so 19 hours now. So far tachycardia not as bad, I took sotalol last night and this morning. No one ever got back to me about whether or not it was ok. I'm sorry about your tachycardia.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey thanks for saying that it takes a while to form new pathways. That helps, especially since these episodes have been so long.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yesterday (july 8) I had afib from 12 am until about 2 pm when it turned into tachycardia 120-130. I took metoprol at 4 pm. Went to bed in tachy of about 130. I felt afib all night. Sometime after 4 am I converted to NSR with normal pulse. I have messaged the EP about taking sotalol (or something else) for the afib. I think the metoprol does nothing for me. I think the afib needs to be controby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I haven't been on it since the pausesby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wasn't told they did right side flutter. I have not ever had flutter that I know of.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you. I have been messaging with my NP and her nurse has called me several times today. I was in afib about 15 hours and then it switched to straight tachycardia with no afib. The heart rate is around 130. The ER doctor had prescribed metoprol so the NP said to take it as needed for the fast heart rate. It did nothing for me on July 4 and nothing changed until my afib was gone. Today soby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Flecanide causes me too long pauses between beats. I have reported it to the doctor though, hoping there might be something.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Do some EP's prescribe an arrhythmia drug post ablations to keep the heart in NSR? I was on sotalol before the ablation. I am 8 days in and have already had 2 very long bouts of afib and I don't want my heart creating new pathways for new afib in the future. Is this unreasonable?by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I ended up going to ER on the fourth of July which was so delightful. No one had any idea what was going on and it took hours and hours. I already knew this is what would happen. They were getting 130s for HR and gave me metopropol. They were very confused because they were counting my afib beats at 130s and my random regular beats at 90. Finally I just went home and at home it was 130 rate buby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks! I drive through Martinsville all the time! I'm taking magnesium bisglycinate but I still have to be so careful not to take too much or I have extreme intestinal problems. Thanks so much.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Something was said in recovery about cardioversion for afib but I was given no guidelines or parameters. I'm in Bloomington, IN, with a excellent cardiology team. Just no way to get them without going to ER today or tomorrow - because tomorrow is the federal holiday. If this is all normal and expected, then I am cool with it, although I feel a lot better now that my heart rate is down.If mby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Now about 8 hours in it is afib with a pulse a little over 100.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
How long is too long to wait before going to ER. (it is 6 hours now. Can I wait 10 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours?) I am also hoping I convert! This feels more like tachycardia than afib but there may be some extra beats in there. I havent had flutter before that I know of. I know everything has changed now. Rate is back up to 160by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you! Only problem is I can't call today or tomorrow (7-4, and 7-5 federal holiday in US). The rate has gone down from about 160 to about 130 and I am drowning myself in water and have taken some mg.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an ablation on June 29 and all going well until this morning, Sunday July 4. (day 5) I woke up to a racing heart that my apple watch says is over 120, but is more like 170. I was told to come back in if I had afib that persisted for very long, but was really given no guidelines about how much is too much, or for how long. I would have to go to emergency room today because of the July 4 holiby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I posted yesterday about PACs but today I am in Afib. I usually have normal or slightly higher rate with afib, but this morning it is has been in the 130s. I just took two ecgs that are 107-110, so maybe it is slowing down. I have samples of eliquis and took one this morning and will see the EP as soon as I can get in, but it's the weekend. In the past my afib only lasts a few hours, but ifby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you so much for posting. Can this cause clots, or harm the heart? It's been going pretty consistently like this for the past few days, although right now it is almost PAC free.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I did that and now it's on my lap top but I don't know how to get it on here.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Can anyone tell me how to download an ECG reading?by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you so much. If I am not in afib or flutter, am I at risk for stroke? I am trying to download my ecg but have not figured out how to, yet. I am willing to go on eliquis if my afib gets worse, and at that point would go for an ablation. My afib is usually every two or three months for a few hours but this has been going on for about 5 days. And yes I started on sotalol after becoming dehyby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I don't post on here very often but read a lot. I have had AFIB for several years. It's almost always short amounts of time, a few hours. I know that you can have an irregular heart beat and it not be afib. I think that is what is happening to me right now. I have always had lots of skipped beats, etc but this is a "regular" irregular heart beat. Beat beat skip beat beat, bby jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
My skipped beats do seem to be worse at night, but don't go away when I exercise. I have been aiming to have my potassium level at 3500 mg through foods and supplements. Should it be higher than that. I only get about 400 mg of MG because of bowel tolerance. I also use a MG spray everyday to get a little more.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks! I am taking 50 mg twice a day and can take two more if I want. She said mine is a low dose.Other than that, I don't know. Flecaninde makes me nervous to begin with, but has basically stopped the afib (for now). I have only taken an extra pill three or four times to see if it would help.by jennifer92151 - AFIBBERS FORUM
