My diet was pemmican and raw egg yolk and organic Colombian coffee. Impossible in Canada AFAIK to get the edible beef fat needed for pemmican, so I now eat unsalted butter, jerky made from grass-finished beef, eggs, supplements of the right kind of iodine, magnesium, selenium, B complex. Please note well that arrhythmias did not stop until I stopped eating carbohydrates. There is some in coffeeby William - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom, one shoe does fit all, in the sense that essential nutrients are essential for everyone, and poisons are toxic to everyone. Most unlike the medical profession's, my perspective is based on reports of cure, not treatment. Living winners, not pathology. I used to make a living as a computer technician, and if I had not fixed everything I would have been fired. Never failed. Yes, thereby William - AFIBBERS FORUM
Elizabeth, I have not researched this, but I get the impression that hyperthyroid is a problem caused by a toxin. However there is this: ""Researcher Dr. Guy Abraham has observed several cases of thyroiditis and hyperthyroidism that have been corrected by the simple replacement of iodine. ..." IIRC it was one capsule of krill oil/day. I take no oil supplements now, the nutrient analysis of the grass-fed beef I eat has all the EFAs in proper proportion. I used to eat a small can of wild pacific salmon about every week or so, but since supplementing with iodine and selenium I've no taste for that. Williamby William - AFIBBERS FORUM
Enough Iodine of the right form has been the missing link, along with selenium. Proper nourishment has done more than mitigate afib, it has cured it. If it has not yet done that for you, how about consulting one of the doctors who are proven competent? Like Flechas, Brownstein etc.by William - AFIBBERS FORUM
From: "Iodine is used by the stomach cells, also known as parietal cells, to concentrate chloride which is necessary to produce hydrochloric acid (digestive acid)." Lack of stomach acid has been a problem for many, solved by taking betaine HCl in ignorance of the need for iodine. Yes, Sam I'm experiencing the same effects for heartbeat - it varies during the same night from tachycardia to various kinds of arrhythmia and the good part is that it's all weak compared to the real thing, so I've also assumed that it's detox. Malabsorbtion is usually blamed on wheat. IMHO it's everything that has roots. For me, I think that it was cured by a strict raw carnivore diet (fat rules!) and became finally right when I added iodine (Magnascent & Lugol's) to the mineral supplements. Magnesium is essential, true, but the dramatic results happen when it has made a base for potassium. A well-balanced diet is composed of =>70% saturated animal fat, the rest raw grass-finished beef and supplements for the otherwise deficient minerals (iodine protocol).
