Thanks for that post. That was fun, but I'm glad you were riding and not me. Some of that looked a little hairy, as in right on the edge of a steep drop. Anyway, the comparison between dirt bike and mtn bikes is interesting. That's one of the activities I would like to return too.( mtn bikes that is). I would also like to get back to some cross country skiing and running, I'by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Tom, Thanks for the report and glad things are going well! I'm 6 weeks post ablation and still taking it easy, but I was wondering about your return to hard exercise. I would eventually like to be able to exercise with some intensity, even if for only brief periods. How have you progressed yourself and what would consider "hard" exercise one year post ablation? Thanks ,by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
My PIP experience taking diltiazem ( forget the dose) with 300 mg of Flec, worked the first 2 times, then stopped working the third time, It took 12 hours to convert. The 4th time I tried it I went into flutter for 38 hours and almost had a tee followed by a conversion. Thankfully I converted and never took the flec again. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Agree 100% with both of You. My only point was that we have a choice, and questioning everything is how we make progress. This whole BB is based on questioning what is standard , what is right and what is best for each one of us individually. My hair just stands up when I hear someone say they HAVE to do something because their doctor said to do . ( I would do what ever DR. Natale said to doby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
You Always have a choice Barb. Not that I'm telling you to go against what DR.Natale says at all, .But we all have a choice what we put in our body, no matter what The Doctor Says. Doctors are still prescribing Statins, despite ample evidence that they do nothing and probably cause harm. And We've know this for 10 years. I've been on Coumadin for about 7 weeks, 3 weeks before the an ablation and almost 4 weeks since. Anyone had the side effect of a low grade headache and mild dizziness. It seems to be getting slightly worse, still not bad, but I'm ready to get off the Coumadin and see how I feel. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
What often worked for me was to load up on trace minerals with the potassium. I used concentrace ionic minerals. Sometimes I combined it with ionic magnesium and the potassium. If you don't have the minerals, I've also had some success with making a cucumber/ celery juice. Hope you feel better. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM

Just curious, why no salt with high cholesterol foods? Thanks for the Salt Lamp recommendation. Silly question, but , do you just smash pieces off it or what? Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
That was nicely put Shannon!by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Any recommendations on a good salt to use? I was using the Himalayan sea salt, but if that's contaminated, I will ditch it immediately. Maybe Celtic Sea Salt?? Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Duke, I'm 50 , just had a PVI 3 weeks ago. I was previously very physically active, but quit racing (Bike, triathlons) about 4 years ago due to the afib. I went back to work in a week. I'm a physical therapist , but I don't need to be very physically active, just walking around and using the computer. I would love to start exercising again, but honestly, I don't feelby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting podcast. I need to learn more about methylation. I may get Dr. Walsh's book, nutrient power. johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Glad to hear you are home and in NSR Jackie. I had a 4 hour afib event also 5 days after my ablation with Dr Schweikert, . Otherwise doing well. Best wishes to you and your recovery. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Doreen, Dr Shhweikert told me on discharge that this could happen, but I let them know through my monitor nurse, and didn't hear anything back. I wasn't expecting to, since I self converted in about 4 hours. And yes , Dr Schweikert has been doing RF ablations for years, he trained under Dr Natale. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Back in NSR after almost 4 hour episode. Somewhat relieved, No more cold foods or drinks for me for a while.by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon, No, I don't have one of those, but I do have some kind of over the phone system, similar to what people with pacemakers use I believe. You put the straps on your wrists and plug it into the device, then place your phone on the device. I'll be transmitting tomorrow. I hope it goes away before then, but my episodes usually last 18 -20 hours, so I may be in for the lby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was told this could happen, but it doesn't lessen the disappointment and frustration. I was doing well since my ablation on Tuesday, but went right into a very uncomfortable tachycardia after about two bites of an ice cream cone today. The tachycardia lasted about 10 minutes , before turning into my standard afib. . It's even more uncomfortable than normal, probably because my heby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks again everyone, I'm extremely thankful for this forum too Smackman. It's helped through a lot, and continues to do so. Duke, I was a paroxysmal afibber for almost 9 years. I had periods of remission following the Strategy as outlined by Jackie and other great advice I gained on this forum. Thanks everyone, The surgery was about 4 hours, but much of that is prep, I'm not really sure how long the actual procedure took. Seemed like about 5 seconds to me! I was surprised by the ICU also, but I guess they want you on the constant monitor. The night is the ICU was by far the worst part of the process. No sleep and mildly uncomfortable for 18 hours. Hi Everyone, I had a cryoablation on Tuesday with Dr. Schweikert in Akron. Everything went well. Interestingly, I went into afib the morning of the ablation. He did a pretty standard PVI, not. finding any outlying areas that needed to be treated. He and his staff are amazing, keeping me laughing right up until I went under . Woke up in recovery with the chills, and seeing double , but thaby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
tsco, I've found a daily cucumber, carrot, celery juice seems to keep the ectopics away most of the day. I only have to supplement with a little ( 500mg of Potassium at that point the rest of the day and evening.by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for all you do Jackie! I'll be one day behind you on the table with Dr Schweikert. Hope your ablation is a complete success! Best wishes, thoughts and prayers. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
BTW, I never had flutter before. Could I have had a bad reaction to the Flecainide? I took 600 mg in 3 doses (300,150,150) in 24 hours during the episode over the weekend. The episode still lasted 37 hours. Didn't take it last night and I converted in 9 hours, and I didn't have any of what I perceive as flutter. ( high regular HR around 120). It was just my normal afib in the 80by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon, Hanging in there for now, had another "regular" afib episode last night, no flutter to speak of , resolved in 9 hours. Found of from Dr Schweikert's nurse that I am his first case next week after getting back from vacation. I asked her if that meant he would be "fresh" or "rusty" She said he is always "Fresh". Thanks everyone, Yes Barb, I think Flec seems to work great for some, or most people. For me, I think it increased my frequency of events, then stopped working at all, followed by making me worse with a new "atrial flutter " twist. Dr Schweikerts Partner, Dr Coursin called me back in five minutes on Saturday after I contacted their on call line. He was great, not making me feel likeby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Could be flutter, I've never had that before. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure I'm back in NSR this morning, and won't be driving to Akron for a cardio version. Just gotta make it until next Tuesday for the ablation. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
