Hi George, thanks for the Reply, yea, I think it was Dr Pinski ! They are teetering on the amiodarone, My parents hate going against MD orders, but I may be able to convince them to hold off.by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Everyone, I haven’t been on here in over 4 years. Been a fib free after a cryo-ablation in 2014 from Dr. Schwiekert (sp?) in Akron. Now , my father , who is 86 had an episode of a-flutter that lasted about 4 days. They were going to do a cardio version on hilm until he self converted. Put him on Eliquis and amiodarone. He’s being referred to an ablattionist in Bradenton Florida. I reby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great news Doreen!! I had my ablation from Dr Schweikert 16 months ago and I'm doing great. Continued Success!!!! Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great to hear Jackie. I had my ablation from Dr Schweikert the week right after you in 2014. Continuing NSR with no hiccups so far. Hope you continue to feel better and make steady progress. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I don't know how many Cryoablations he has done, but when I had mine last year, he had been doing them for a year. When I was checking out of the hospital , I asked him how many he has had to repeat , and he said, None....... Doreen, No worries, looking back it seemed so simple and easy. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a cryoablation on 8/12/14 from Dr Schweikert in Akron. I'm happy to report that one year later, no hiccups, and I am enjoying NSR. It's been a really wonderful year. I went back to exercise slowly, and still do mostly body weight exercise or low HR aerobic exercise like hiking, biking or running slowly. I've been following Phil Mafatone's exercise protocol of keepingby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Really interesting, thank you for all your work !by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great News Jim. I've heard good things about DR Pinski, and if I lived down in Sunny Florida, he would have been my choice.. Take it easy for a while, and as Jackie would say, "Keep up with your electrolytes" Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anyone have any experience or opinions on using PEMF to control afib. Article below.by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lynn, The cold weather used to really set me off pre-ablation. Just walking in the cold triggered episodes. I guess we are all different. Cold drinks sometimes did it too. Hope you are feeling better. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ken, As far as exercise is concerned, I would take it really slowly. I took about a month before I did any exercise outside of walking, then progressed really slowly, up to where I am now, six months in , and I feel like I'm back to where I was pre-ablation. I know everyone is different, but I think it's better to error on the side of caution. I was a chronic over exerciser, and tby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Six months to the day since my Cryoablation with Dr Schweikert. Everything is going great. Life post ablation has been a blessing. I'm so happy to have it behind me. Thanks to everyone on the forum for their expert advice. I've returned to pre-ablation levels of exercise, but it has taken the full six months to do so. I haven't returned to my pre afib levels, and I probablby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Great News Shannon! Glad you are coming back too!by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Smackman, I've been afib free since my ablation 6 months ago, but also have had varying levels of PVCs, ranging from one per hour to one every 5 seconds. They are stressful, which is bad , because stress definitely increases them, causing a bad feedback loop. Food also increases them. What I eat, not as important as how much I eat. Not that I don't try to eat well, but they inby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Best wishes Murray! I had mine over 5 months ago, doing well. Still need to keep the electrolytes up to prevent to PVCs, but otherwise smooth sailing. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Doreen, Great to hear that your appointment with Dr. Schweikert went well, but I'm not surprised. He and his staff were always wonderful with me. It's been over 5 months since my ablation, and I've been in NSR except for a blip 4 days after the procedure. I was warned that could happen. Recovery from the ablation has been steady, and I still feel like my endurance for exeby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jackie for that excellent research! Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
HI Travis, I just wanted to let you know that Flec made me worse. At first it worked great, but then my episodes got longer and more frequent after starting it. Finally, I had a 36 hour episode with some a-flutter that I never had before. I stopped the flec and made it through my last 3 weeks to the ablation on Aug 12th. Still in NSR ( Dr Schweikert in Akron did mine) Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Love and Prayers to you and your wife Shannon! Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Love and Blessings to You Duke, Happy thanksgiving. John Jonesby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Duke, I had an ablation 2 months ago, but I was saying that the in my fight to avoid it, my overall health improved significantly. Unfortunately I couldn't lick it without the surgery. I should have done it sooner, but I wouldn't change what I've gained in health during the process. Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I Second and Third what Jackie and Shannon said. I gained so much in m fight to avoid ablation, as far as changes I made to my diet , and overall health improvements. Part of me, like you, wishes I would have had in done 2 years into my afib experience , instead of 8+ years. But the fight lead me to great insights into my own health, what I responded well to regarding diet and supplements,by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I know I've read some horror catheter stories on here, but for the record, I had absolutely no pain, during upon removal, or after . I wouldn't use that as a basis for making the decision.by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have to take about 1500 mg of potassium gluconate a day to keep mine relatively calm. I take some slowly throughout the day in my water, then some more at night before bed. I also usually have on Low sodium v8, and try to eat high potassium foods. But the food wont do it alone, I need the potassium directly, and it works best on an empty stomach. I'm going to look into food sensitiviby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm assuming the one's HRV would be poor right after ablation. I guess it's more complicated than just taking your pulse and noticing a difference during the inhalation and exhalation. I do feel like looking into some for of chiropractic manipulations to the thoracic area. Thanks again Jackie, Johnby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jackie, I'm thinking of getting some food sensitivity testing done. DO you have any recommendations on where or who to get that done through?by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I wanted to start a thread on Heart Rate Variability to see if others who have had an ablation also experience this. As I understand it, Your heart rate should increase upon inhalation and decrease upon exhalation. Before my ablation, this was noticeable when checking my pulse, especially with deep breaths. Since my ablation, it has been inconsistent. Sometimes I have noticeable variability,by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone, I'm 2 months post ablation with Dr Schweikert. I had a cryo-ablation, PVI. I had a 4 hour episode 5 days after the procedure , following eating a couple bites of an ice cream cone, but have been in NSR since then. Overall I feel good, it's taken me this long to start to feel totally normal again, If I had to do it over again, I probably would have taken off work more tby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's Great News, thanks for the Report Shannon!by John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree with George that 10 L of water sounds like a little much , even for the desert. I've read that you're urine should not be constantly clear, more like a mellow yellow! Maybe you're flushing some nutrients. They were talking about that recently on a podcast Called Bulletproof radio with Dave Asprey and a Physiotherapist named Kelly Starrett. They were recommending puttingby John21 - AFIBBERS FORUM
