Cherry Tarts for joints? My god! I'm heading over to Starbucks or Tim's right now.... they have great cherry tarts and coffee. Wife is suffering terribly with her joints and cannot seem to find any relief through normal medicine. We have been thinking about naturopathic medicine and even accupuncture. Seriously..... what is it that you are taking for joints? (Excuse the atteby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jeez. Another quack! You aren't seeing my ex-cardio in Toronto are you? If I am not mistaken that will put an end to all of your problems. It is final. No wiggle room once done. I would get myself into the care of a top Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist. The difference from someone who may have been practicing cardiology but doesn't know aFib intimately is HUGE. My first caby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM

Are you a candidate for ablation? I am not yet as my left atrium is enlarged. So they started me off on TIKOSYN straight away. Three days in hospital followed by ECV and NSR since December..... I think the plan is to hold off until the TIKOSYN stops working and then do an ablation (technology progresses fast). Not everyone can tolerate TIKOSYN but for me it was a Godsend drug. And in Ontaby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
This has been discussed over the past couple of years for sure; one wants a cardiologist/EP that does, say, 200 a year and has been doing so for X years. Also, one wants a facility that is well prepared and does several hundred ablations a year, has all the cutting edge equipment, etc. (And the ancillary help is all well versed in ablations, etc.). Do a search and you will spend the week readinby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
The label on Polar Seltzer states: Sodium Free Calorie Free Natural Vanilla Flavor CONTAINS: Carbonated Water, Natural Vanilla Flavors (in the flavored version... I take mine straight) Might be neat if Potassium Glucinate powder dissolved in it more easily than having to shake the heck out of it in LS V8 or on food. Any further thoughts or input anyone? P.S. Man, I'd love to be able to get more Magnesium into me. I max out at 400-500mg/day. Beyond that the wife puts the seat and shoulder belts on the toilet and I sleep with a parachute on me.by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
I began with Magnesium and built up to 400mg a day; then Potassium until I was getting serum blood test levels of about 4.5; then Taurine; then CoEnzyme Q10. All the while I was supplementing basic vitamins, etc., such as slow release vitamin C, etc. Somewhere on here you will find that I made an experiment of one.... stopped supplements as directed by some lamebrain at the hospital and didby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been reading and studying steadily for almost two years now and would agree with Angela, although I tend to lean towards cryo as RF ablation make you set off alarm clocks and smoke detectors for six months afterwards.by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve: What is BCBS? I seriously doubt that OHIP in Ontario would even consider a request, although I am quite content heading down the path to an ablation with Drs. Verma and/or Khaykin in Southlake Regional Cardiac Centre, Newmarket, Ontario.by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
To be honest, I have experienced anxiety just starting up on TIKOSYN and praying for continued NSR so that I can HAVE an ablation... I would think it perfectly normal, everything else being in order, to be anxious after surgery for a period of time. It has been five months on TIKOSYN for me and NSR 99.9% of the time I believe.... I am still anxious and will hopefully find relief after my six monby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have seen several on the market and would be inerested in the same advice. The self adhesive pads are available and are relatively inexpensive. I have also heard to ECG routines/adapters for iPhones and laptops that use the processing and storage capacity of same to reduce cost. I'd love to have that capability if not overly expensive.by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Paul: Take me as an experiment of one. I was initially advised that prior to starting TIKOSYN med I MUST stop ALL supplements immediately. I called bullcrap on that and consulted with both my cardiologist/EP and the pharmacologist specializing in cardiology and TIKOSYN in particular and was told, after examination of my list, that the supplements were inconsequential. Period. Continue. "by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Keep in mind, as well, that aFib begets aFib as they say. And more importantly, that being in aFib tends to cause enlargement of the heart, in particular the left atrium. My EP, one of the best in the world according the Hans' survey, will not perform an ablation on me as my left atrium is at 60mm. It is normally in the low 40's range. I am fortunate to be in NSR since December but recall a few of my symptoms quite vividly.... fatigue and shortness of breath top my list as being the robbers of my quality of life. I had regular bouts with 'rampaging' heartbeats and chest pressure (they always thought it was a heart attack or angina and chased it down that well-trodden path with negative results). Thanks for that post Tom. It serves as a warning to us all. I had a lightheaded episode the other day but it did not last long. I suspect it was something that I did... like use a nose spray or something (allergies/misery). Further, I am on TIKOSYN and need to watch myself VERY carefully. I am always concerned about future care by the same or another MD should I put up a fuss. Strange. Medicine is a profession and should be self-regulating but is not. Just try to get one to testify in a courtroom against another and see the results. THEY are ostracized. So one tends to go with the flow. For reasons that need not be discussed I have been off my supplements for a couple of weeks here. Have been feeling down, depressed(?), stressed, weak, lethargic, tired, you name it. Hans, et. al. After my first miserable electrocardioversion with a cardiologist who did not even stick around to tell me he had failed in his bungled efforts I decided to educate myself and your report was wonderful. Thank you so very much for all of the advice being received and we are going to try.... my arthritis is a 'pain' (pardon the pun) but not dibilitating. Ever hear the 'caveat emptors' that go along with ads for things like Crestor on the TV? They are absolutely laughable. Phyllis.... I can't say for sure. One thing that I DID do was follow 'the protocol' and began supplementing heavily. I cannot tell you about eliminating inflammation as such, but what I did want to say was that I am certain of its link to aFib issues; how do I know? I think there is room for both mainstream and naturopathic medicine to be honest. 1. I am in NSR thanks to TIKOSYN when my options were short. 2.
