Going off on my usual tangent, I am sitting here with a closet full of low sodium V8 and Mott's (which is peppery)..... We have all the electric appliances one could ever want and somewhere around here I think we might even have a "juicer". I am wondering if anyone has played around or knows of a recipe for ZERO sodium garden cocktail that one can make at home? It would probby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Chuck, et. al. All I can tell you is that I find that my SERUM Potassium level will most definitely ward off the ectopics/flip flops. It has happened to me at least a dozen times since NSR was achieved (finally) in December with TIKOSYN and electrocardioversion. I beat like a Swiss clock now except when my Potassium is not attended to. The comment that it is easier and cheaper to follow serby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM

Again, thanks for sharing. I did not realize the mitigating factors in the consumption of LS V8 as a regular part of my diet. We will use less LS V8 in future and more of the powder. Murrayby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM

As a matter of interest, I have been supplementing for about 1.5 years now. I had the benefit of an extensive CT scan with dye just prior to starting supplementation and it showed noticable 'inflammations' through my body, in especially lungs and heart. My pulmonologist insisted on a follow up CT scan with contrast dye about three weeks ago and all of that 'inflammation' wasby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sometimes we experience side-effects for which an answer is never forthcoming, either by our own research and cautious experimention, nor from the medical community as they either just don't know or cannot afford to invest the time to investigate the issue. I know that when I presented my family doctor and pharmacy with the product monograph for TIKOSYN they both smiled and stated quite sby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hans.... I have only ever tried the Magnesium Glycinate (Chelated) and never the Citrate based on what I have read on the board here. I DID find that Magnesium Glycinate had a laxative effect for me and at first it was significant. After a short while (couple of weeks?) the bowels returned to normal and I increased to 400mg. Again, I found it had a laxative effect I believe but this time not nby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM

I have requested early renewals on my Warfarin/Coumadin and some other medications and they are hopefully ready for pickup today. Again, it appears that there are meds on the list in Canada that are NOT on the list in the USA. In Canada, according to the news reports heard and read, the government did a real big stupid.... they tried to reduce the cost of meds by putting all of their eggs inby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carol: iHerb, by the way, is absolutely outstanding. A great place to buy your supplements; best prices I have found; best delivery I have found; best quality I have found; etc. And best of all you will be supporting the board if you order via the links on the board.by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Personally, I would like some direction in that comparison as well. Also, personally, at this point I have simply eliminated salt/sodium from my diet and read labels carefully (actually it is more like minimizing sodium intake). As to Potassium, I try to keep it in the 4.7 - 5.0 range more or less and that seems to keep my heart calm and NSR. I drink Low Sodium V8 (note it does contain sodium)by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Drug shortages in the US do not appear to be as critical as in Canada:by Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
The US drug shortage does not appear at first blush to be as significant as that in Canada. It certainly has made the news bigtime north of the 49th. Murrayby Murray L - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I have posted this in the aFib forum: I gather that the drug shortages being reported on the news as of late have become critical, to the extent that Chemotherapy patients and non-elective surgeries are being triaged and cancelled! This is apparantly a very serious problem and it is going to get worse before it gets better. I note several drugs of interest on the lists in Canada (and pby Murray L - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

I can tell you from personal experience only this: Coumadin/Warfarin has a rapid antidote should you have need (which I did at the beginning of December). Pradaxa does not and takes days to be processed out of your system. Nicked myself shaving the other day and it bled for two or three hours, where it would have coagulated and stopped in 5 minutes pre-Warfarin. I cannot imagine a serious bby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM
Holy smokes. In any event, one wants to read up on Magnesium ON THIS site. You MUST spend the time as the medical community is generally 'with blinkers on' as to these things and you must advocate for yourself. Remember that you need to uptake the magnesium slowly (Magnesium Glycinate/Chelated.... there should be a link to it under Vitamins/Supplements) or you will need a seatbelt inby Murray L - AFIBBERS FORUM

Erling: You are, of course, spot on. I often find myself off on a tangent and will attempt to reign that in. With regards to the accuracy of the tests, it would be normal procedure to redo both tests to see if the discrepancy still exists.
