There were some interesting discussions at last years Venice arrhythmia conference regarding the history and progress of cryoablation. Up to a couple of years ago before Medtronic bought out the inventor company, there were around 200 procedures done annually with cryo balloons world wide. After Medtronic took over, procedures grew many fold with the bigger push from a bigger company. The techby researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
I normally use Chrome but the plug-in for seeing the video doesn't work with it. It showed up fine with Internet Explorer. I don't know if Firefox or Safari would work with it or not. In an ideal world, everybody will get someone of the caliber of Natale, Jackman, Hindricks, Jais, etc.. In the real world many will have limited choices so the guidelines tell us about training, equipmby researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM

That is really interesting. Please keep us informed of your research. Can you provide more details (RPM, HP, Voltage, Frequesncy, etc) on the motor and why it is so easily accessible to those working on a drilling rig?by researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
Janet, Thanks for the explanation. I misunderstood your earlier comment that "EP is not keen on another ablation" as him giving up on your case. In the link below, there are links to presentations by world class clinicians on repeat procedures.by researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
Janet,. I see that he was trained at Royal Adelaide which is the probably the top center in that region. It is good that he is visiting other top centers in other countries to maintain an edge. I think it takes confidence from the EP for him to tackle a difficult case that requires multiple procedures. You noted that he seem reluctant to do a 3rd procedure and I presume that he is smart and kby researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
I think the problem for Janet is that ablation experience in New Zealand is lacking as evidenced by the following writeup by the one of the most experienced center in the country. The results are not very good and I am being generous in my words. I would follow Gill's suggestion of looking outside NZ. Royal Adelaide is the closest choice.by researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
This is the journal started by Dr Natale with open access to all those that are interested. Current issue has a series of excellent articles about the current state of understanding, recurrence and complications. Registration is free.by researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sounds to me like the subjects of the studies are "lone" afibbers by definition. That is, no "overt" structural heart disease, as defined by the physical examination, electrocardiography, chest radiography and EKG. That follows from "unknown cause".by researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
Given the random nature of AF, I think it would be difficult to attribute cause and effect of any arrhythmia to most foods and supplements. I think one way to tell is to try something for 3 months and self-monitor AF episodes and compare to a 3 month period with out the supplement. There was a Swedish participant in the forum that wrote a program for self monitoring while taking AAD but I canby researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
I agree with the "overkill" comment regarding Amiodorone. It is the most toxic of choices and it may not do anything for her AF. The number one priority should be minimizing stroke risk. Amio should be the last option amongst the drugs.by researcher - AFIBBERS FORUM
