I don't know if this board still promotes, discusses or looks for natural cures, but I had a question about iodine. I think I have seen discussion before on iodine fulfuillment being a cure for afib, but I was wondering if anyone on the board had experienced this themselves or have run across and other anecdotal evidence for this treatment. The one thing I have run across is the followingby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I know that if I eat wheat/gluten it will bring on an episode of a-fib. Generally it happens about six hrs. after eating the offending food. I avoid wheat and gluten always, but have been served it when eating out and have traced it back after the fact.by Lynn - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks, Shannon. That is very impressive and better yet it is not just hear-say.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, just wondering if you received my pm this morning. I just checked my pm box to see if I had a reply and then went to the sent folder and there is nothing in the sent folder.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I currently use Bhrt, but we have not yet added estrogen to the mix. We have been trying to see if using "everything else"would make estrogen unnecessary. When I first started using DHEA it reduced my episodes, they eventually came back up to monthly so we added testosterone, which again decreased those episodes and on more than one occasion actually converted me. Sorry if I confused this matter. She made it sound like going for ECV was a matter of personal preference. Whereas, I always thought it was encouraged during that first 48 hr. period. She said that anicoag. is necessary with ECV if your afib has been in progress for more than 48 hrs. So I asked why it is safe to self convert on asprin only after 48 hrs. and she said that the anticoag. wasby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
A few weeks ago I was promised by Natales nurse that I would be faxed some information regarding his stats. You might recall that in another thread I said that it was great to get info. from the web and these boards in particular, but before I let someone burn my heart I need to see some cold hard data. I am a little defated that none was forthcoming. Any ideas why? Subsequently I spoke wiby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I recently asked my EP's nurse if it was still recommended to go for cardioversion if my episode went over 24 hrs. and her response was that it was entirely up to me. She did not seem to think it was riskier. I asked her if it was recommended to at least be on some type of blood thinner other than asprin if you had a longer episode and she said with a zero CHADS that it wasn't.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM

It has been some time since I reviewed the strategy, and now I can't find it, could you post a link, Thanks, Lynnby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, I noticed that you said it was a 5 day trip to have Natale do the procedure, but then I read the link McHale posted in reference to the doc at the Cleveland Clinic and it sounded like that was an overnight trip. Just wondering why the difference. Also, if you spend five days out of town, are you able to get out and do some sightseeing or something fun or are you expected to lay low iby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
McHale, thanks for that info. I've definitely got some research to do. Shannon, thanks for taking the time to share all that great info. I will definitely PM you about the T3, it is one potential cause that needs to be nailed down before resorting to surgery.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Could you post a link to the data Hans collected on ablutions. When you travel a fair distance for an ablation how is follow or complications 30 days after handled? This is all so scary for me. I am afraid of the meds, afraid of flying, afraid of surgery. I will begin researching, and hope that adjusting thyroid meds and working on adrenals will make it unnecessary. McHale, thanksby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon: Where did you go to get your stats when you first started your research? Did you contact the docs directly? If they are self reporting their data is it reliable? Do they report bad outcomes? Are you able to address my question about remodeling and some of the other info. given to me by my EP?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I should add too that I have hypothyroidism and have been using compounding T3 for the last 5 years. Recently, I have detected variations in the compounded T3 and believe that I was back to hypo status after starting a new batch at the beginning of Dec....skin on hands cracking, falling asleep early in the evening. Thank you everyone for your support. I will be going for an echo soon which I guess should give me some idea of the size of the enlargement. The thing I am really irritated about is that my EP has always assured me that unless I was running high rates for days on end, which I have not, that there would be no worry of rmodeling. He has also discouraged ablation saying that they are not always eby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
This a.m. at the end of an afib episode I was disturbed to suddenly see on my Alivecor strip that the distance between Q and R had shrunk. All the previous strips I ran show the distace to be approx. 9 squares high and now they are only 4 squares high. I had contacted my EP today because a few of my strips had rates in the 140's and 150's. He assured me that as long as I was not goby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I guess I am hoping to sort it out and get back to where I was like George. Dr. Is retesting my thyroid. There may be an issue with my compounded thyroid meds. I'm toying with the idea of a pip for rhythm.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Elizabeth, That is interesting that it did not require you to take it in the E.R. the first time. Maybe he thought this would give me more assurance. The whole rhythm control spectrum of drugs scares the heck out of me. How long have you used it? Have you ever had an ablation? I should add that I take 600 mg. 2 x day of chelated magnesium, plus add about 1 t. of Calm each day. So I think mag. levels should be up there which leaves me puzzled about the RVR.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am 18 hrs. Into my second episode this week. I've had afib for approx. 6years. In 2012 I hand only 4 episodes. In 2013 I have ramped up to three or four per month. What has changed? Supplements I have stopped include potassium, probably even before last year. In 2012 I diligently drank a large coconut water each day. However, I restarted potassium powder four days ago with v8 so I aby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have always wondered why there wasn't more discussion on this board re: detoxing And candida. Balancing the minerals and such deals with problems from candida and adrenal issues, but getting to the root cause is very important. For info. On detoxing I recommend the book "Detoxify or Die". Jackie, Thanks, I will PM you. I appreciate your response. So from what you are saying there is no build up effect over time right? What is the source of the ranges you cited? I currently take an enzyme Nattovita per my drs. Instruction. It contains 1500iu of nattokinase. I take it 2x per day. I have also added Jarrows nattokinase 2 x per day which is 2000iu per dose. It seems that I have come across posts in the past discussing how most spring water contains too much calcium. I don't know if it is just me, but I am having no luck with the search function. I had been doing yoga a few times per week up until Dec. I had 4 a-fib episodes all of last year. So far this year I have had four. Guess I better get back to yoga. I do think it helps to relax the nerves, but it is also a good detox because it makes you sweat.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I think maybe you are assuming that I had amalgam's removed then was diagnosed with high levels of mercury. That was not the case.
