Hi John, I guess I should have known that if it were a dangerous practicce one of the experts here would have alerted you to the danger. I just didn't want to take a chance that, if it were indeed an oil, it was missed. Forge on! Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jackie, We all know how you feel! I am getting used to my quiet heart and relative confidence that AF is not lurking around the corner. You deserve the same. Best of luck to you. Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Regarding Ron's point about how long the EP takes to ablate. I was chatting with an EP nurse about Dr Natale soon after his arrival at St Luke's hospital. I wanted her impression of hs skill. she said she was not able to comment on his skill level although she knew of his reutation and experience. However he was a pleasure to work with as he is very fast. She said most of the EPby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Erik, I have traveled to Austin to be ablated by Dr Natale and am happy i did so. If you can afford it that would be my recommendation. Here in NY I have Dr Connor Barrett at St Luke's managing my care. I like him and more importantly I trust him. FYI Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi John, I would not intentionally breath in any oil unless it was prescribed by a MD and i verified it independently. My concern is that it might cause lipoid pneumonia. FYIby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi John, Just a heads up for you. You might want to double check the strength of each Doctors Best tablet. When I was taking Doctors Best each tablet was 100mg. The recommended doseage was 200MG which would have been two tablets. I switched over to Bluebonnet because each capsul is 200 mg. Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Barb, Since you are focusing on your sister now I guess you are feeling well. Very happy for you. Following my touch up I was fatigued for a day or so but was able to keep up with my wife sight seeing in Austin. I am still amazed how my heart beats regularly in the background. It's not like a clock, there is some variations to the rhythm, but except for some PVCs it all feels normal.by DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good luck Barb! Hope it works out as well for you as it did for me. Say hello to Dr Natale from his NY fans. Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
McHale, Very happy you are doing so well now and hopefully for many more years to come. Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Colindo. Pre ablation my night time hr was low 40ies even falling to high 30ies. Even with this rate the MD's insisted on the bb before the flec for fear of the 1 to 1 conduction that Shannon mentioned. I don't recall my hr going lower as a result of taking the one time bb followed by the flec. Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
I never had a failure to convert with flec as a pip in about 50 doses over 5 years or so. I found that food in the stomach interfered with conversion time. On a relatively empty stomch I usually converted in an hour or two. A daytime Af attack after a full lunch took the flec pip 13 hrs to convert. When I first learned about flec as a pip strategy I misunderstood a posters comments about conby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Susan, Degree of pain is subjective. In general i can tolerate alot of pain but only if I know it is to be expected and that it will resolve on schedule. After my first ablation in NY with DR Natale I had uncomfortable pericarditis and esophageal pain and I too thought that it would be just my luck to be Dr Natal;e's first fistular. On the night following my ablation I had substantialby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Aspirin may be effective against inflamation but at a significant risk of bleeding. BTW neither the cardio nor the GP tested me for the blood viscosity/inflammation markers that Jackie recommends.by DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Not so new for readers of this BB. I always thought it odd that my cardio and GP insisted i take asprin even though the GP acknowledged that blood clots formed during AF were not due to platlet aggragation but fibrin related. The Cardio must also know this too. The GP said take it anyway. I didn't bother discussing it with the cardio. FYIby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Best of luck tomorrow Barb! My second ablation with Dr Natale was pretty much a non event. Felt well after the proceedure and it has been hoding me in NSR even though there is a 40% chance I will need a third to complete the process. But positive thoughts your way that the cardioversion, tomorrow, does the trick Dennisby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Cindy, Sorry to hear about your friend. I think that Dr Esselstyn from the Cleveland Clinic (?) treats patients that do not want to have bypass surgery with lifestyle modification . He has reported much success. Check in with him for a recommendation of an MD in your area. Dennis Try this linkby DennisC - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi David. I'm on what I am told is a low dose of metoporol yet it has a pronounced effect on my exercise tolerance. Walking up stairs or even an inclined city street causes muscle distress and heavy breathing. Walking Dow hill or sitting at my desk I feel fine. 25 mg every eight hrs was prescribed but I take it twice a day morning and night. I am able to exercise in the hour before I taby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi barb. I've been using zyflamend for years and sometimes I taste the very strong ingredients in the capsules. I usually take them with food which eliminates the aftertaste most of the time. I think p&g promised not to change the formula when they purchased the product line from new chapter. However I think the alternative health food/supplement people do not like nor trust p&g.by DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi TSCO. Make sure you are keeping up your mg. k+ and taurine supplementation. For most of us a diet high in salt of forgetting to fully supplement with K+ will cause pacs even after a successful ablation or two. Take a look at Hans' PAC tamer recommendation. Good luck. Thank you all for the imput. I'v dedided to go with the Xeralto. After my first ablation i used it for several months and had no issues. Using McHales link i was able to get enrolled for a Xeralto pass. With this pass you pick up the Xeralto at the pharmacist for $10. The maker of Xeralto pays the other $90. I can do this 12 times. Presumably this can be renewed after the 12th time. Tby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
I will be switching from warfarin to either xeralto or elequis. I'm having difficulty staying in the therapeutic range with warfarin. The cardio is pushing xeralto. He gave me a card for a free months supply and indicated that I could have a second one. The elequis is about half the price of xeralto with my pharmacy coverage. Additionally in a recent post Shannon indicated that there seeby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Doreen. I pretty successfully managed my Af for years with lifestyle modification ,supplementation and the PIP method. Every time I got an Af attack I tried to recall everything I had eaten or done to try and figure out what I had done wrong. I wrote it all down in my Af notebook. No patters emerged. My sense of what was causing the Af was often not one thing but a mix of many things comby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi alexe. I recall Hans advising us that the bicarbonate is more concentrated than the gluconate. If you bicarbonate powder did not come with dosing instructions don't assume it is the same as the gluconate and check with your pharmacist so you don't overdose. Hi barb. I worry about my grandchildren getting at my stash of supplements or my dropping a tiny metoporol or a not much larger Coumadin and not being able to find it on the floor. The toddlers put everything they find on the floor into their mouths. Recently sAw a report on TV that a large % of calls to poison control are due to children ingesting grandparents medication. Hi Liz, I wonder if it is as simple as the person with the lowest A1c has the best diet. It would be great if it were so. It would take the mystery out of which diet to follow for me. You might be on to something! Dennisby DennisC - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Hi Jean, I had a rough first month too. Lots of flutter and some af. After my second ecv things settled down and I did well. One of my children recently reminded me that during the first month post ablation I expressed regret that I had gone down the ablation path. Prior to that I was doing fairly well managing my episodic af with dietary and lifestyle measures. I uses the PIP protocolby DennisC - AFIBBERS FORUM
