Pgrove1: I was successful on flecainide from 9-14 to 3-6-19...15 year run of minimal AF. Hopefully with your 5 minute episodes you should be ok. I had a flecainide overdose (3 pills in 24 hours with 121 weight) in August, stopped flecainide and had an ablation with Dr. Natale on 9-19. Regarding side effects-I had one annoying side effect of flecainide-it prevented me from sleeping. I wouby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Bookworm. most of my ER visits for AF were also on Friday evenings. At least 5 this year alone. Maybe once Friday evenings approaches I get anxiety and walk on egg shells and get AF. Carey is 100% right. From my experience, I had been 100% denied a cardio conversion unless I had written proof from my personal ecg gadgets that I was in NSR within the prior 24 hours. I also get a ZIO patch twiceby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wwolfbum Same with me in 2004. After dinner I would sit on the couch and watch TV. Bam..AF. I found if I slouchEd I would get AF more often. I started eating smaller meals and nothing after 6. It helped. You mentioned adrenergic..I would be sitting thinking when will my AF start and it would start. Once my HR would increase I would go into AF. Have you considered asking about a beta blockeby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
To be clear I am on Eliquis 2/day and take 2 fish oil dailyby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I interviewed a new GP today who saw that my Cleveland Heart lab testing for particles size were too big so he suggested 2000mg fish oil daily...knowing I am on 2xday. I’m already on 782 x 2/day of fish oil also. I already am bruised on my arms and legs from stumbling from syncope so I bruise easily. My INR is elevated already. Too much fish oil concern because it works as a blood thinnerby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I did a science experiment in 2004 when my AF were almost every evening by testing the results of frozen entrees to getting AF. We were having a kitchen remodel so I had no oven so we ate frozen dinners from our bathroom counter microwave. It was either the sodium or salt that triggered my AF. Or the stress of 9 months of using my toilet as a garbage disposal with no kitchen while like clockworkby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb, are you able to eat bread since your ablation? My weakness is chocolate which I read here in 2004 that it could trigger AF...so the closest I’ve got to a chocolate experience is going (if I’m around the area) to Starbucks and sniff hot chocolate that customers are drinking. I would love to one day have chocolate. I’m not sure if it’s the caffeine or sugar that triggers AF. Sugar and even hiby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you GeorgeN and the Anti-Fib. Priceless info! I’m both vagal and adrenergic. AF from throwing up/GERD/bending over (vagal) and adrenergic emotional surprises (1st AF @49yo brother’s funeral both myself and mom came down with AF-my first AF-and we were hospitalized one room apart, last AF that started the adrenergic marathon was upon hearing the news of my mom’s death this March. QuoteGeorgeN I ask because your condition sounds very vagal and a beta blocker can exacerbate the problem. They are OK to take during the episode for rate control. If you have a BP issue, perhaps a different, non BB med like a calcium channel blocker might be more appropriate. GeorgeN- I think my recent PVC’s are vagal because they are worst after drinking /gulping water or eating or GERDby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had GI issues and AF before my ablation. I am vegal so throwing up triggered my AF. I recommend bland foods, maybe the quesadillas did it. I stopped gluten and it helped. MSG was my trigger. Check your ingredients. Good luck.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quoteajr1960 I have since found out that My vagus nerve and ganglia fibers were damaged (which are unrepairable) and now I’m left para sympathetic dysfunction. Due to this outcome - my BP bottoms out (I never a BP issues prior to my ablation) and I can’t stand more then a few minutes without severe Tachycardia/ BP issues and symptoms. How long wolfpack? My ablation was 5 weeks ago and now my ankles are swollen this week and I gained 5 pounds in my legs alone. My daughter flew into and I was stupid enough to think I could walk from an underground parking lot to the elevator . Today I seriously feel sorry for myself. My heart is pumping from 90s to 120s. Carey-what about pvc’s? It is an arrhythmia. Isn’t the heart vibrating like af when someone gets a run of pvc that are on off all day? Same 3 months? Last night after my multaq and magnesium I had such violent (high hr and syncope) pvc that would not go away. I have to take a Kardia reading as part of my ep Kardia program and the readings kept saying possible AF but it’s a Kardia software inteby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJoyWin Just now and then it catches me out, especially when the Dr is trying to show me he’s not concerned. 🤗🤗 I prefer a doctor who doesn’t sugar coat. It gives me doubts which could cause anxiety. I call my oncologist “dr death” because she is straight forward. Try biofeedback. I used to listen to Dick Sutphen (Amazon) “sleep like a baby” trains you on biofeedback and his CD “Zapper”by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Depending on your weight, be careful when taking extra flecainide. I listened to an EP and ended up in the ICU with 24-37 HR flecainide overdose. Flecainide is a black label drugby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
GeorgeN, What about either of these two? I read the one star negative feedbacks. Lots of headaches and runs. I never had headaches with magnesium Aspartate, dizziness and unexplainable syncope.by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
GeorgeN or others- I’m sensitive to supplements. Back in 2004 I took ginkgo biloba for memory and went into my second af. Cardiologist said it was from supplement. So I stay away from brain food supplements. Can you look at this supplement? It doesn’t give me the runs or pain. However I started it in August after disconnecting flecainide and had some nasty high 180+ Af so I’m thinkingby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am not taking a beta blocker. I suspect my syncope to beta blocker withdrawal which this is the 3rd time. Thanks Carey. You are so helpful. I actually didn’t have much pvc and angina today so I used my treadmill twice at 1.0 slow walk and took a walk (1000+ ft) to neighbor without a problem.,by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey, I would love to take a beta blocker but Dr. Natale said I can’t be on both multaq and Tenormin. I realized why I may have syncope. Not from my Apple Watch but from one of the three ecg monitors I got free for being a beta tester was I able to watch my rhythm. I hovered at 37 for at least 5-7 seconds at times then it goes tachy and then low again. I never had tachy and pvc together. Iby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
That is why I have syncope. Cold turkey off beta blockers and two BP meds. My BP is low. Same experience in 2004 when I was fainting after being decades on Tenormin and was told to cold turkey it. It took 6 months of tests and syncope before they let me resume the beta blocker. Then on August 18th after the flecainide overdose, ICU discontinued my beta blocker because my hr was 24-37 for dayby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM

I’m antsy because it’s affect my quality of life. >110 HR gives me syncope plus the symptomatic banging in my heart is not pleasant especially when I want to sleep. Thanks Carey! Did mine show every other beat pvc? Both my EP and NP to Natale said I’m ok but it has to be wear and tear to my existing leaking valves when HR is over >130 frequently...like if I walk, drink, or stand up. paramedics fire dept said I had tachy pvc With their 12 lead ekg, while ER said to another nurse “she is in arrhythmia, wait, back in sinus”. is pvc considered an arrhythmby susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
At 105-109, why didn’t you take a beta blocker once stopping solalol? I’m waiting to go back on it. Wear and tear. I’m asking because I walked to my backyard and my HR jumped to 130. Last week 120-130s when walking one block. It isn’t the numbers but the syncope. Did you have that during your blanking period?by susan.d - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am required by my cardiologist to participate in his practice’s Kardia Care Plan with 6 lead and BP cup. I am waiting for them to ship it to be but I downloaded the app. Under education, they describe pvc as following: “PVCs are the most common ventricular arrhythmia.
