Peggy: I am certainly glad to hear that. I thought I was really loading up on the potassium via the V8 and coconut water everyday, but the exatest and my 4.1 blood level tell the real story. I am supplementing with the potassium rather gingerly because I know that too much can be dangerous. How long does it generally take to see your blood serum levels move upwards after you begin supplementiby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Erling. I have just received my order of potassium gluconate. I will use one or two tsp. of that in addition to all the V8, coconut water and veggies I now consume to try to bring that potassium number up. I just had some blood work done a few days ago and it is interesting how many of those numbers support the exatest results. Potassium was 4.1. Erling: The ranges you posted agree with my report. The confusion was that that bar graph for P/Ca has an error. It has 5.1 above 6.0 on their graph line. So the graph shows it to be out of range, when in fact it is not. Wonder why they changed their ranges.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I use a BB as my PIP (propranolol). Two days ago I had a sudden onset of some fast A-flutter or SVT anyway took my BB. The next day I notice some minor fluttering and took one...just in case. When that one wore off notice more minor flutters..so had another. Well this morning I work up completely wired, feeling like I have electrical surges running through me, some bp spikes (my bp is norby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I forgot to note that the reason I thought P/Ca was out of range was because their graph was incorrect and showed 5.1 at the high end of the graph above 6.0...obviously incorrect.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Erling. Jackie: My Mg/Ca ratio is 9.0 (6.1-12.2). What are you referring to when you say K2 and MK7? That is somewhat discouraging. Not sure how much calcium I can realistically get without dairy. I think I will hold off a bit until I get Mg and K a little higher.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sam: I think Jackie is right on target. It is an adrenal issue. I myself have adrenal fatigue and have read that once your body becomes vertical (after being asleep) there is an adrenal response. Pursuing adrenal issues is probably a good course of action. Jackie: How do you define active a-fib. My episodes average 1 per month and last anywhere from 5 to 12 hours. Is that active? Also some sporatic a-flutter and SVT. I looked at the Strategy report. Great info! I just couldn't find your suggestions regarding calcium, other than the need to limit intake. I have cut out almost all dairy. Jackie: Thanks, that is a helpful summary. I may try switching mag. brands. The mag concentration is not terrible at 36 (33.9-41.9), but I would much rather be toward the high end. That may make sense due the fact that I have been only taking 400 mg. of mag. each day. Not sure if that indicates an absorption problem or not. At what point is is ok to add in calcium? That is on the low end 3by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Annah: I use a bb only when and episode begins. A bb is for rate control so unless your heart is beating too fast at other times I would guess that using you bb as a pill-in-the-pocket would work just fine. My EP and ones I have consulted for a second and third opinion are fine with this.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just can't believe I missed that...you are right, I've only been taking 400 mg., and maybe less if it is only 20%. I have a bottle of Floadix in the cupboard, I think I will try taking that as well. What brand and dosage are you gals taking? What concentration level (per exatest) do most of you shoot for with the magnesium? I am still perplexed about what to do about the phosphorby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nick: How did you resolve the problem in your house? Did you have visible mold? I ask because I am not sure how I would resolve it if I found out that was my problem. Our basement can be musty, but I don't see any visible mold so I am not sure if the resolution is just humidity control or something more drastic.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am taking KAL. I take two 400mg tabs each day. One in the a.m. and one in the p.m.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just received my exatest results. Need some input to interpret. All the individual elements were in range. Calcium (3.4) and Phosphorus (14.8) were on the low end of the range, but still in range. Magnesium was 36, which is in range, however, given the fact that for the past couple of years I have been supplementing magnesium I am surprised it is not higher. I get runs of bigeminy and trigeminy. The last time I experienced these I was on a 30 day monitor and they were all captured. My EP is not concerned about them and I have taken my strips to two other EPs and they did not bat an eye. They are of a shorter duration than yours, but thought you might find that fact interesting. As far as distingushing them from a-fib, I definitely can. For me PVCby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM

George: Thanks that is very interesting. The first time I noticed these low beats I was in a semi-sleep state and it really startled me. I must be extremely sensitive to my heart rhythms. I usually monitor my rate manually or with my BP cuff so I was not aware that such variability existed within 1.5 minutes (100 high, 57 low). I am currently on a 30 day monitor. Right now at about day 18. My heart rate is normally in the 70's or 80's and in past years even been a little tachy. Anyway, during my first week of monitoring it dropped momentarily to 60 a couple of times. Then this morning to 55 a couple of times. Is this something I should be concerned about? I currently take Life Extension Super Omega three's that contain 2000 mg of fish oil yielding 700mg EPA, 500 mg. When I showed this to my cardio. he said that dose could be toxic, in fact anything over 1000 mg could be toxic when it comes to fish oil. I didn't question him further. Cynthia: On average I have been converting in about 8 hrs. Back in January I went to the er with my afib because no one had ever recorded an actual event.
