Ted, I am assuming we have greater HRV when we are in afib because the rhythm is irregular and more variable. When using your other device what is your HRV number before going into afib and how does it compare to your HRV when you are relaxed an in NSR. I am out of afib now and my HRV is 48. I am curious as to whether afibbers in NSR have lower HRV scores. If so, could raising those scoreby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been in afib for a day and a half...longest ever. Anyway, a couple non afib days were around 40, all day yesterday around 80, then high heart rates this morning in afib the rates were down to 40, after beta blockers and half a Valium its up to 80 again. Had big stress yesterday and have modified my b vitamin regimin. Interesting article tho. Makes me think this could be a good toolby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
After downloading the new Alivecor app update, I noticed that they added beat fluctuation. I am assuming this is the same as heartrate variability. The higher the number, the better. Mine has been running around 80, but I have no idea what an optimal score would be or what strategies to use to increase my numbers. It is interesting to note that prior to the start of my afib episodes my chirby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM

This is all well and good, but the research that is really needed is research to uncover the root cause of afib.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM

There is actually a quinolone vigilance foundation out there trying to inform docs about the dangers of these drugs. Their website is saferpills.orgby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, After my Dr. Recommended that I start supplementing with amino acids, I just added pea protein to my routine. It seemed easier than fooling with all the seperate aminos. And the compounded amino acid mix was a fortune. What are your thoughts?by Lynn - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks George, I have a Kroger nearby so Ill check that out. Just noticed the other day that Dr Sircus' website has a link to an $80 bottle of the concentrated mag. bicarbonate. So thankful that there is a less expensive approach. Jackie thanks for your reply, but we don't have any of those stores near us.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
i decided to try making Waller water, but cannot find milk of magnesia that contains only water as its inactive ingredient. What brand is everyone else using?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Last year's labs indicate that fasting insulin was 4.7, the glucose numbers were lab results as well. I have a glucometer, but have never taken the time to learn how to use it. I have been using chronometer for the last month which was what prompted me to drop fruit because carbs were going slightly over 100 each day. Without fruit I can keep them pretty low, but I see that the cashewsby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, I'd like your opinion on my mystifying situation. This year and last my fasting glucose has been 95 which is a mystery because of the type of diet I have been following. When it was tested last year I had been on a diet recommended by an environmental doc who felt that I had been exposed to toxic mold. I had been following the diet for about nine weeks when I had my bloodworkby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Glad you do not have to deal with the heart issue on top of all of this. Have you ever considered going to the Mayo clinic.. They seem to be good at solving problems that others cannot.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, I have done the 23andme, ran it thru a different decoder than the one you recommended and it looked like it didn't test the sulfation gene, which if memory serves me right is SUFX. So I'm not sure if 23andme doesn't test for it or if it has to do with the decoding program I used. Were you able to see that gene in your results?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Peggy, I agree. I believe it was her functional med doc. At this point I feel compelled to leave no stone unturned in looking for an answer. From some of my readings on the detoxification cycle and the role that sulfation plays in that cycle it seems like a possibility. Since there are some on this forum who seem far more bio chem literate than me I was hoping they might weigh in on this tby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Last week I had an order that didn't go out for at least two days after it was placed. This is unusual for them.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
A friend was recently told by her Dr. that if someone has afib with no underlaying cause that it is usually because they have too much sulfer on board. I'm guessing this may be linked to sulfation issues in the methylation cycle. Has anyone ever heard of this before? Does it sound feasible?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Never heard of this before. Any ideas on how to try this at home?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Todd, I had never heard the theory of afib being caused by heart worms. I'm wondering if that theory has ever been disproven. They test dogs for heart worms so I would assume they could test people. I'd be interested to know if anyone has more info on this theory.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Peggy, I had to smile when I read your post, you are so right. You are not cynical, you just know the truth when you see it.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, I'm very intrigued by the combination you are taking, how did you arrive at that combo? Did you have any concerns about the purity of imported products or those meant for horses? Over the years I have learned that there can be vast differences between brands of the same product so it is entirely possible that your success at keeping your afib at bay could be attributable to thby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
George, Which brand are you using. I thought I had previously seen posts that said you were taking 2.2 g and I thought that was high. When did you increase?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for your replies Shannon and Jackie. Jackie, I can certainly understand your sensitivity. The one thing that has given me a bit of apprehension about ablation is that sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't ...new and unfamiliar rhythms would cause me to become unglued.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, Sending prayers for a full recovery to NSR. I've really been consider an ablation with Natale, but I have to ask, if his staff could see your activity in HeartTrak why did it take Shannon's intervention to get you back in quickly?by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Columbia River frozen cranberries have 2 grams of sugar per 65 grams. This brand is carried by Whole Foods.by Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Cranberries are also considered diuretic. I don't know how much of a diuretic effect they would have, just thought I would throw this out for comment. I remember years ago doing the Fat Flush Diet which called for just a small amy of unsweetened cranberry juice in a glass of water. That was the beginning of etopics and racing heart prior to afib. I blamed it on the cranberry juice, but wby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
