Hi Tom, best to you and your wife. Hope her afib sorts itself out quickly!

Shucks. Sorry to see this. Unfortunately, your behavior will probably make things difficult at that hospital in the future? Oh, I hope not.

Very trying time to see such unexpected results. I'm glad you got your wife to the ER in time. Good luck.

Sorry, man. Hope she's doing better now.

If you end up in the same ED again, make pains to be extremely pleasant and polite. In fact, if you want to endear yourself with them, go buy a nice cookie assortment from a local bakery and take it to the ED at the same shift.

I would buy a packaged sealed cookie assortment so they will eat it and not think it’s tampered opposed to a bakery cardboard box full of cookies only sealed with scotch tape or a sticker. Costco or markets sell metal tins of cookies.

Tom I hope Cindy is feeling better. So sorry.

These snacks from Amazon are practically and healthy for those needing a snack during a shift. Plus tamper proof to trust enough to eat from a person who the police escorted out :-)

Thankyou for the kind suggestions and comments. Home again 48 hrs no afib for her. They’re convinced itll settle down as days go by
So typical: amio and metropolol. Thanks to this site I’ve learned so much over the years
Maybe a bad idea i know too much lol. Wow this valve open heart stuff is rough. Plus one bypass so her leg all gauged too
Ok cookies for police good idea. If. If we go back. I allowed stress to build and exploded for no good reason
My wife 70 still beautiful! So she hates the scars etc but theyll look very different by Dec 1
She never had an afib it hit her hard. Almost faintec and high 160 like you guys ive had 100 of them. Until someone has an episode i dont think they really get it

Not for the police; for the nurses. The police don't matter but the nurses do.

In case you can stand more coaching, do not say the words, 'I apologize'. That's like saying, 'I drive, or I golf.' Instead, say, 'I am sorry for losing control the way I did.' That is real ownership because you are using first person, and you are linking a specific event to your apology.

Then, 'It can't compensate for what I did, but I hope you will accept a small expression of regret.....and some cookies.' And smile hugely! I think you'll find those acts will melt some of the frost or 'talk to the hand' if there is any.

Good luck!!

ERs are great for gunshots and car wrecks but ERs are car wrecks when it comes to AFIB.

Ha ha! Great way of putting it and largely true. But considering she'd just undergone open heart surgery, an ER was a reasonable precaution.

Interesting - my husband recently had open heart surgery and he was started on Amiodarone immediately - surgeon told us this is best practice for open heart surgery. He was on it for about a week. Also, they put in a atria clip for his LAA. Again, standard practice we were told.
