Does anyone have experience with the Loop Recorder Implant? What is it used for? Does it work? Any side effects or issues? How long was it in?
Thanks so much!

Yes, I’ve had one for 3 years. Medtronic.

An implantable loop recorder continuously records information about your electrical activity, similar to an ECG. However, an implantable loop recorder can record heart rhythm for up to 3 years. It is continuously looping its memory and has automatic triggers to store recordings.

I have a phone type box on my bedside table that sends back the info on a nightly basis to my EP.

Joywin,

Is your recorder used as a dialogistic tool, or to just monitor how things are progressing? Why was it recommended for you?

Ken,
Because I was having 3 to 4 episodes per week each lasting up to 12 hours, of AF , my Cardiologist wanted to see the readings for himself, probably because I wasn’t in AF when I saw him.
After receiving the nightly reports I was referred to my EP for ablation.
