pain killers, eye floater and liver function

Prior to getting my AF condition successfuly treated via the electric current whilst under anaesthetic, I was using Neproxine for the pain caused by Cervical Spodylosis. As I am now permanently on Apixaban to help ensure a lower risk of my blood clotting, my GP removed the pain killer from my repeat prescriptions. This was in case the pain killer attacked the wall of my stomach and caused bleeding which could be dangerous when taking Apixaban. My heart specialist could only suggest replacing the Neproxine with paracetamol which is only partially able to deal with the pain.
Has anyone been able to find another strong pain killer which has a low enough risk of attacking the wall of the stomach?

Also, whilst in hospital, I was given an introveinus infusion of Amiodarone which caused me to develop a "Floater" in my left eye. I was also informed that my liver was not functioning as it was previously and the infusion was stopped slightly earlier than intended and the Amiodarone tablets I was taking were also removed. My liver function has not improved as expected and I am close to becoming diabetic unless I moderate my diet and loose weight. I am trying to increase my excercise levels but this is difficult due to the high pain I experience. I have been advised by an Optician that hopefully the eye floater may disperse after a year or two. Has anyone else experienced one or both of these two problems caused by this drug or the AF?

There is much in your post to respond to, I will try to answer some of it, and others can add in more response.

As for the Neproxin? Do you mean Naproxen Sodium?? That is a NSAID class drug, and is not advised for long-term use while taking Blood Thinners (Apixaban), as it can cause the blood to get to thin.

Also, there is not alot of literature on this, but from my experience and research, Naproxen Sodium is not a good choice for those with AFIB risk, as the drug alters the NA+/K+ ratios in the Atria both when you start taking it, and then also when it is discontinued. Alterations or shifts in electrolyte balance can increase risk of AFIB.

The paracetamol (Tylenol) can cause liver values on blood tests to appear worse, but rarely causes serious liver damage.

Perhaps a primary care or pain doctor could be of help here, in selecting the right drug regimen for your complicated situation.

No Nsaids aren't really safe when being antiquogulated.

Tylenol is very bad for your liver.

The only pain relief I have is Ultram (tramadol) which is a synthetic/pseudo opiod. It is a weird drug, because some people actually get high from it, but some people only get a level of relief. Not a great deal, but some. I'm in the limited relief, which is better than none, but no high like a real opioid.
