TIAs and/or pre-stroke indicators - wacky HR BPM

TIAs and/or pre-stroke indicators - wacky HR BPM

# 1 asking for a friend.

They have an iphone and are seeing their heart rate skip all around from 80-140, turns out after asking a few questions that they took two drugs that have this side effect "fluvoxamine oral and clarithromycin oral both increase causing a dangerous abnormal heart rhythm"

They also take this drug that "Use of progestational drugs, such as Norethindrone Acetate tablets, has been associated with changes in the blood-clotting system. These changes allow the blood to clot more easily, possibly allowing clots to form in the bloodstream. If blood clots do form in your bloodstream, they can cut off the blood supply to vital organs, causing serious problems. These problems may include a stroke (by cutting off blood to part of the brain), a heart attack (by cutting off blood to part of the heart), a pulmonary embolus (by cutting off blood to part of the lungs), visual loss or blindness (by cutting off blood vessels in the eye), or other problems. Any of these conditions may cause death or serious long-term disability. Call your healthcare provider right away if you suspect you have any of these conditions. He or she may advise you to stop using the drug."

The friend also believes that have covid and can "feel the virus moving through their body". She is also reporting that areas of her body are numb and suspects she is having TIAs.

My advice was for her to stop self treatment and get to an ER for an EKG and have her blood looked at immediately. Hopefully they will give her an MRI or CT with contrast to see if there are any TIAs.

Any other ideas?

I'd say a psych eval is in order following her ER eval. She's exhibiting irrational, delusional behavior.

Yes. Agreed. I spoke with her father about the same. But needed her to take care of the fire at her doorstep 1st.
