Just an update, I spoke to Smackman a short while ago and he is all set and raring to go at 5am tomorrow when he is due to arrive at St Davids Med Center for the first ablation of the day starting around 7:30 or so in the morning.

He and his wife and grown daughter drove the 8 hours to Austin from Monroe Louisiana as did his brother and his wife. Dr Natale asked if he would be willing to let him implant an Reveal XT under the skin heart rate monitor which is much simpler and less invasive than a pacemaker and has no leads at all connecting to the heart, so this will really help in catching any silent episodes over the next three years or so and follow his progress closely.

Anyway, it will be interesting and a bit ironic to be watching his ablation live in the morning and will post a follow up tomorrow with how it all went objectively from my view after seeing him and his wife after my day is done and I can swing by his hospital room, and then see how it went from his side of the fence.
