Black Mold?

Black Mold?

We had a nasty surprise over the past few days. With the spring rains our house sprung a leak. It came down from a valley in the roof and emerged in the ceiling in the garage. The disaster clean up people have been in and started tearing out walls and discovered lots of black mold, so apparently the leak was occuring undetected for a number of years and never poked its head out from around the corner until just now. We often wondered if we were living in a sick house, but could never smell it. We would go away on holidays and start feeling remarkably good, but within a week or two of being home start feeling sick again. This is a newer house and we could never smell any mold. Can black mold be a contributing factor to afib?? Does anyone have any opinions?

Ron - there are a lot of concerns with black mold exposure. Do a Google. A couple years ago there were many 'alerts' about the prevalence of black mold and heart issues were just some of the complications. I recall in my FM health network, there were numerous teleconferences about the toxicity and systemic implications. Check www.mercola.com.... at the time he was actively publishing news.

The remediation of black mold requires certified experts dealing with such as it's very difficult to get rid of, apparently.

Sorry you have this concern right when you are getting ready for your Bordeaux trip.

Best to you,
Jackie

Has the mold been tested to find out what species it is? There are only a few that are considered very toxic. Most are pretty harmless. Make sure you know what it is so you can get medical treatment or move out until it is all clear.
