Does having flutter mean Afib is likely as well? I have flutter that was ablated last month. Does this mean I am likely to have AFIB or are the events not related?

Eric - Where was your flutter? Right or left atrium? Sorry if you posted that, I don't recall.

Jackie,

Flutter was right atrium.

Okay, then Eric...I recall reading that it has been observed that often after right flutter ablation, afib texisting in the left atrium is then revealed...where previously, the aflutter in the right atrium was masking the afib in the left chamber. Do you know if when the flutter ablation was done if they checked the left atrium for potentials? Jackie

Thanks Jackie,

I only had a catheter in the right atrium. The left atrium they did not go into... ALthough I am not sure that rules out anything..

Best Wisehs - Eric
