A Few Good Days- GABA, Theanine, and Anti-Inflammatories
July 25, 2024 09:49PM
I am not going to get too excited about anything at this point, but after my last mess with drug induced vascilitis, I met with my Integrative Medicine doc on Monday.

I have made a few changes and added some supplements and the short term results are a little bit crazy.

She had me add some major antiinflammatories, so I am taking Colchicine, added BCQ (Boswella, Curcumen, Quercetin), and I am also taking GABA/Theanine at night for my nervous system. For the last three days, I have had almost no PACs, SVT, or Tachycardia. I am hesitant to say that it is better, but I also know that I have had no relief for over 18 months. I will keep you posted. I am very, very curious....

That is some good news! Hopefully it will continue to work for you. I am going to look into some of it a little more for myself as well.

Good news!
Care to share which brands and how much you are taking for the BCQ and the GABA/Theanine?

Vital Nutrients BCQ | Vegan Boswellia, Bromelain, Curcumin & Quercetin Supplement

Source Naturals Serene Science L-Theanine with Magnesium and GABA

These are the specific ones that my Naturopath recommended. I am very, very encouraged. I don't know if it will last, but it greatly encourages me and gives me some hope.

I was wondering , after your post about giving up on conventional cardiac drugs, if part of your problem was originating in the Nervous system. I have heard of dental issues and pinched nerves causing cardio issues. Anti-Inflammatories may be lowering your nervous system response.

Colchicine turned my wife into a renewed woman four months ago, but unfortunately her new rheumatologist disagreed with it and took her off of it. She's now on methatrexate and not doing all that well.

I hope you do well on that bevy of drugs, Megan. With all of those added at once, and if you don't improve, or do worse, it will be hard to decide which to eliminate or to blame.

I have some sleep aids that contain L-theanine and lemon balm amongst other things that seem to calm my heart, trouble is the company seems to have stopped making them or they are on a hold or something. It must have been the L-theanine calming it. I hope it continues to help you!

Thanks Gloaming. I was already on the Colchicine, so it will just be adding two supplements. But I agree, it may take some work if I have to figure out which one is helping.
