Nocturnal Polyurea

Nocturnal Polyurea
August 06, 2023 11:51AM
My last liquid intake of the day is a cup of tea with my evening meal which I finish at 7 P M.

I empty my bladder just before getting into bed about 10.15.

I wake up 2 to 2 and a half hours later with a serious need to empty my bladder again. This often happens again about 4.30 AM.

I have no sign of retained fluid and I haven't been able to find a solution online.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Sam

Hi Sam - Do you also have to urinate frequently during the day as well?
If so, then first, I'd consider having a urinalysis with your doctor.
Often, if there is a bladder infection, a major symptom is the frequent urination.
Would be good to rule that out.
Best to you,
Jackie

Thanks Jackie. Urination normal during the day and no infection.

That's pretty much what's been happening to me for more than 30 years. The issue for me is sometimes being unable to get back to sleep quickly.

If your final cup of tea is caffeinated you might want to try herbal or decaf.

Andrew Huberman, hubermanlab.com, has good info on sleep, inclucing this brief summary: [www.youtube.com]

Thanks Jackie. I had already read through that reference. No help, sadly
