Vitamin D Testing Challenges
August 06, 2020 05:01AM
In this video, I’m going to talk to you about vitamin D testing challenges. Vitamin D can be tricky to measure in the body. There’s not yet an agreed-upon value for ideal vitamin D levels in your blood. The “recommended” amount of vitamin D in your blood can range from 16 mg/mL to 50 mg/mL.

There are two forms of vitamin D:
• 25 hydroxyvitamin D (inactive)
• 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D (active)

Most of the vitamin D in your blood is the inactive form. In fact, this is the kind of vitamin D that most people check.

Very interesting about the kidneys job of converting vitamin D to the active form.

Another possibility is that low D levels in people with good diets and outdoor time could be due to other problems? Horse and Cart....?

He says, supplement or don't supplement; supplementing D3 however does not address the cause of low levels...
