Dr. Kerry Clark, University of North Florida associate professor of public health, and his colleagues have found two species of Lyme disease bacteria previously unknown to infect humans in patients.

Interesting comments to read also.

Thanks, Todd. There are numerous co-infections that can mimic Lyme or accompany Lyme that are often missed by conventional testing. In fact, some markers were intentionally removed from the screening process so go undetected. The ELISA testing which is a common screen is totally worthless. There are now at least half a dozen Lyme Specialty Testing Labs as a result of inadequate testing by conventional tests.

The fact that Lyme and co-infections are carried by other vectors in additiion to tick makes it even more easy to become infected and much more prevalent throughout the US that typically thought. In fact, it's no longer considered a regional disease. It's everywhere and it's commonly thought that most everyone by now has been exposed to Lyme or a co-infection and the only difference for not becoming ill is a strong, healthy immune system.
