Emmie - with intestinal mal-absorption or dysbiosis, there are a number of factors - including the presence of hyperintestinal permeability or Leaky Gut Syndrome, parasites, Candida and the obvious, malabsorption. They all can be contributory to lack of nutritional elements being absorped through the gut lining. Some do get through but not in the proportions needed for optimal nutrition. Lynn, I mostly take K Citrate, but I have taken K Gluconate powder. When I did, I just put some powder in a bit of water. I can say that my taste buds never tasted any sugar. I went to the Iherb.com site & pulled off the data for both the powder & the tablets. As you can see, the powder has nothing but K Gluconate. The tablets have Cellulose, Stearic Acid (vegetable source), Magnesiby GeorgeN v/51/na - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was using NOW Foods brand 500 mg L-arginine gelatin capsules. Since I removed the powder from the capsules, I ingested no gelatin. The capsules also contained standard pharmaceutical necessities as: magnesium stearate (non soluble and not biologically available) and silica, which improves flow of pharmaceutical powders and may have some pharmaceutical properties of its own. This past spring, I attended a health expo in Cleveland and picked up various brochures from many exhibitors. One in particular caught my eye it said: Health Alert Studies show most Vitamin Supplements contain toxic poisons Inside is a Kirlian photography comparison of a synthetic multi-vitamin and a Living Source Plant Concentrate which is graphic in comparison which I suppose it is fby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Mike - that's because (as I understand it) the cells have to have adequate magnesium in order for the potassium to function. So it would be logical or reasonable to assume that until the cellular saturation (of magnesium) is reached, extra potassium might not work or might not even be advisable. Again... many people may not tolerate supplemental magnesium.... Fran, for one, can'tby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jackie, Do you know how much of the Potassium Glycinate 99 mg each tablet/capsule(?) is measured in mEq's? Does it tell you on the label? As Marian said, that's the way your levels of potassium are measured. And according to one of our closest friends who is a surgeon is what I need to know. I have some 99 mg Potassium capsules left over in a bottle and not anywhere on the bottle doesby Glenn Camp - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jackie, You asked: "Mike - I can't respond to how the brand you obtained might react for you. My only experience is with 1) Metagenics Mag Glycinate - works great. 2) Solgar chelated magnesium with calcium - promotes afib. Did you see my post where I gave you a contact in the UK to find out how you can get the Metagenics product?" To which I would answer: yes Jackie, I did noteby Mike F. V42 - AFIBBERS FORUM
