Not sure, maybe the current catheter design’s limit PFA to PVI plus posterior wall. There currently are trials underway focused around focal catheter’s, Acutis Medical and Farapulse to name two companies. Farapulse was recently purchased by Boston Scientific. I bet Dr Natale would be able shine light on this, he is very knowledgeable on PFA.by SailorGuy1 - AFIBBERS FORUM
PFA does not cause scar or char; it’s a non thermal modality. An electric field is passed over the desired tissues and tiny doors (nano pores) are created causing cell contents to exit through the cellular membrane. Normal homeostasis ceases and the cells/tissues become non-conductive. The extra cellular matrix remains in tact.by SailorGuy1 - AFIBBERS FORUM
On June 9th I had a PVI plus posterior wall ablation in Austin. Dr Natale performed the procedure; there were no complications and after one week no PAE’s. I was told it was his shortest to date @90 minutes. The ablation was performed with pulse field energy as part of the AdMIRe clinical trial, Sponsored by J&J Biosense Webster. Did your friend continue to have AFIB episodes when normal dosing was resumed?by SailorGuy1 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good Morning…. I have a recent discovery and I am interested if anyone could shed some light on the subject. 4.6 years ago I was diagnosed by my PC with hypothyroid and placed on 50 mcg livothyroxine. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with AFIB; probably had episodes earlier but can’t be sure. Recently at my request I was taken off of the livothyroxine for 6 weeks and retested by a specialist. Justby SailorGuy1 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ralph, thank you very much for sharing your one year update. It’s wonderful that everything had gone so well and as expected. I am new to this group but not to AFIB and recently had my first appointment with Dr Natale to discuss an ablation. I am currently waiting for the next PFA trial to open up in Austin. Thanks again for sharing and wishing you good healthby SailorGuy1 - AFIBBERS FORUM
