Quotewalt Saw a tv ad about this for the first time today. Expensive and you have to have a Kardia Care membership. What caught my attention was the “six arrhythmia” detection capabilities. Can all Kardia versions do that? Yes, they all can report the “six arrhythmias” but I think you have to have the membership to get the added 3. QuoteJayBros I had a third ablation and Watchman (Dr. Natale) at the same unconscious procedure. When I told my local cardiologist he was going to do the two together he said Medicare would not pay for both done together with his practice's EPs; there had to be a healing period after the ablation. My EP ordered mine from Asperio Labs and they sent a report on my response to hundreds of drugs, as well as a list of drugs that I should never take, including common drugs like metoprolol and codeine. I just looked for their website and only found a Facebook page, so I am not sure if they still do this testing but I am told that there are other labs that do it.by Daisy - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteAfibber20 Does Metoprolol extended release impair the digestive function and cause diarrhea? Thanks! Another thing about metoprolol: for those who are poor metabolizers of CYP2D6, you can get ‘overdose’ symptoms at regular doses. I am a poor metabolizer and my pharmacogenetics report says to reduce the dose by 75% if it is prescribed. Because of this, I was prescribed propranolol instead.by Daisy - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteMac Sure it can be done. I’d be careful about it, though. As you’ve noted, once it’s in place the LAA can’t be ablated from the inside anymore. So you want to be really confident that you won’t need an LAA ablation in the future My LAA was ablated several different times over the years . . .so you never really know. I am interested in this question too as I'm being evaluated by Dr. Natale for a 1st ablation and if he finds it necessary to isolate the LAA, it would seem easiest to put in a Watchman at the same time. Does anyone know if it would be "routine" for Dr. Natale to do this if the patient has requested it, or whether there are some special circumstances necessary for him to do both atby Daisy - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Steve, I had a similar story—tested mildly hypothyroid, was put on a low dose replacement and a few months later started getting frequent, really intense Afib episodes. Stopped medication and thyroid function tested normal. I’d like to say that this was the end of Afib, but it wasn’t—I just went from frequent episodes to just a few a year.by Daisy - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had 2 Pfizer vaccines plus a booster. I am in the process of arranging an ablation with Dr. Natale this summer and plan to get a Moderna booster a few weeks before the ablation so that I'll be well protected during travel. Does this sound like a good plan? Apparently, their is a slight advantage in switching from Pfizer to Moderna for one of your vaccinations.by Daisy - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks so much, Ralph, for your detailed report. Congratulations! Great news for all of us. I have been inquiring about PFA recently and Dr. Natale has confirmed that, at this time, it is not being done for patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, or Linq monitors as there are still some questions about how the PFA energy would affect them.
