Its not that simple, I haven't had any refined carbs for over 2 years yet the GERD is still there, some of us tend to produce more stomach acid and if you don't control it, it can have bad consequences. For example, my mom has many pvcs after a fatty meal if she forgets her PPI, but as soon as she takes it within an hour the pvcs disappear along with GERD. Lance, I contacted one of the researchers in one of the studies I linked and he recommended no more than 1000mg with a meal daily for a month as a treatment and then to be used only as needed.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ghost, Try testing via stool or endoscopy for h pylori or any other infections of the stomach which also can cause GERD and inflammation and that can irritate the heart anytime the stomach is full. That’s what happened to me with h pylori and I didn’t know it for 18 months. Tried everything, all magnesium and potassium in the world didnt’t make any difference if my stomach was full. I fast most of the time and eat only once or twice on most days, but usually I have one big meal a day so only take 2 pills 30 minutes after the meal and had no issues.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
I want to share some information about a supplement I discovered while dealing with gerd, which I suffered from at least 10 years. I recently got rid of H. pylori and initially I hoped that this would also eliminate my gerd but it seemed to actually make it worse, at least it felt that way. A couple of months ago my results came back negative from a stool sample and I thought it would be safe toby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
Forgot to mention that I also take three tablespoons of organic coconut oil and MCT oil both from Costco.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
HBK, not sure how it would apply in your case since you've been ablated and from what I read its a common thing to have some stomach issues for short period of time, so maybe do an endoscopy first and see what's going on before you start anything. I stick with reputable brands of supplements like: Jarrow Formula, NOW, Solaray, and AlleryResearchGroup, make sure its made in USA. I tooby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides. It has many antibacterial properties in addition to being vital for energy via ketones, see link for more info if you're interested.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
This may not be of importance to those with afib or ablated folks but to those with any stomach issues, bloating or just pacs, you might want to try my approach. I’m extremely happy to report that I have gotten to the bottom of my problem, which some of you know by now started over 18 months ago. At first I thought it was a genetic link, which predisposed me from my dad who at 71 had a stroke anby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
Actually I don't have an early adopter plan but I do get to keep all of the recordings on my phone. If you opt for the $10 paid plan then you get the cloud storage as opposed to storing them on your phone and. Other than that no real advantages over the free option so not worth it in my opinion.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
Here is the new Kardia 6 lead sample I took today, had it for few weeks and they sent me a free case since I ordered it awhile ago. It is been much more accurate and stable in terms of readings.Better built for sure and I would definitely would spend the extra $50 and get this model over the original Kardia model, which is $99. See screenshots of the readings below. More info belowby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes Carey, Apple Watch has all your recordings stored on health app and there aren’t any limitations as to what you do with it, including emailing or sharing the data. Forgot to mention that there aren’t any fees.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM

I know that some of you have been members of this forum for over a decade, but that doesnt mean you know more than others or have any more authority over anything other than your opinion, which you're free to share. Hi Tracy, 1- are apple watches very accurate? Based on recent FDA approval, Apple watches are as accurate as any Alivecor device in interpreting afib episodes so if the apple watch reading came back as possible afib, I would at least review the ecg it or have someone else look at it. You should have an instant reading of the ecg saved on your phone in your health app and you can reviewby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
Can’t comment on Afib but I would change your diet a bit. Low salt diets in general are dangerous imo, everything starts cycling through your body so no matter how much potassium or magnesium you’re taking you’re just flushing it out. It never reaches your heart. I limited my salt intake for a year and never felt worse, tired, shaky and even started getting short runs of arrhythmia like svt. I wby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
I consume them for stomach issues and inflammation on a daily basis, around 8oz.. I blend them in a smoothie with a banana and an apple sweetened with a spoon of local honey and about 20 grams of grass feed protein mix. Since I don't consume any sugar I don't notice the bitterness, you get easily adjusted to it.by johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’m surprised that no one knows about this. It does seem easy but does anyone know anything about this technology. It looks to me like a tens machine you can buy on amazon for $20. QuoteCarey The authors of that study are medical school professors. That's what doctors in an academic setting DO. They're required to do research and they're required to publish. QuoteCarey Actually, I don't think the pharma industry pays much attention to supplements, and they certainly don't spend big money discrediting them. Take a look at the authors of the study you cited in your post. They're all university scientists. There's no affiliation with pharma companies and no funding from them. In fact, I've never seen a study on supplements thaby johnnyS - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey That's just not true. Take anticoagulants, for example. There have been dozens and dozens of studies done on warfarin (perhaps hundreds), and many also with the newer NOACs. There are far more studies conducted on prescription drugs after FDA approval than supplements. I mean, it's not even close. Carey, initial scrutiny yes, but once FDA approved pharma drugs aren't scrutinized imo, unless there are deaths and thousands of serious side effects little is done, same with ongoing research data of active users. Yet, every month I see new studies negating benefits of supplements, which by the way is usually low dosed to have any reported benefits in the first place. Thank you all for your help, honestly I just want to find a way to reduce the ectopics while I deal with H pylori. I tried mastic gum for two months and it worked great, no stomach issues and no pacs, but when I stopped taking it, all came back and still tested positive, so now im willing to try anything except the antibiotics and ppi protocol. Just an update, for all of those with any discomfort or bloating after eating followed by pacs. Get tested for h pylori. After more than a year of searching for answers and causes for my pacs I have found that I have H pylori confirmed by endoscopy and also stool test.
