Yes similar symptoms on occasion. I blame my low heart rate. It’s almost always in the low to mid 50s, dropping to 49 a couple times. I’m on 25 mg metoprolol daily and 400 mg Multaq twice a day. I lowered the metoprolol from 50 to 25 on the advice of my EPs NP. Didn’t help. I’m having an ablation in October so I can hopefully stop Multaq.

Carey, Does that mean if I am able to stop a year after a successful ablation I would be put back on it when I turn 75 the following year? Another question for you - I assume you read that I had a coronary CT and there is a blockage but it’s not blocking blood flow. My EP put me on a statin and aspirin. I stopped the aspirin after seven weeks due to spitting blood several times a week. I

Thanks Jim. For some reason I was thinking the point for being female was no longer being used but I may be wrong. It’s what puts me at 3. If I do go one year afib free there may be new information by then as to how safe it would be. To me it’s more important to stop Multaq. By the time the year is up I’ll be 74. 75 adds another point.

I saw my EP today. He went through the options I have including staying on Multaq, trying tikosyn while being hospitalized for three days, or an ablation. I’m ready to be done with as many drugs as possible and not being blindsided by episodes randomly. It’s not always my thyroid. We scheduled a PFA for October. I meant if I wasn’t stopping the amitriptyline. In my opinion I should have been told to stop the amitriptyline before starting Multaq. By the EP or the pharmacy.

My PCP only refills my amitriptyline, he didn’t prescribe it or the Multaq. And he was the first to respond when I asked three different doctors/NPs. My endocrinologist originally prescribed amitriptyline but he is in a different medical system and would have no access to my EP or PCP records. So I asked his opinion too and he agreed with my PCP. I finally sent another message to my EPs NP saying

I portal messaged my endocrinologist since he first prescribed amitriptyline. I messaged my primary care physician since he handles the refills now. I messaged an NP at the cardiology office since my EP is out of the office until May 26. PC answered quickly and said just stop the amitriptyline. Thanks again. The last thyroid labs I had the day I went into afib in March were normal. TSH was low in June, August and October of 2025, normal in December. FT3 and FT4 were normal all those times. Thanks Carey. I misspoke-it’s not been quite two months on Multaq not almost three. Anyway, I didn’t take the amitriptyline last night, I am too afraid of it now. It’s such a low dose and it’s for sleep not depression so I probably don’t need to wean off. I see my EP in a few weeks and will mention it then. Quotegloaming Not so far, but the loop should be closed IMO. If it's the same issuing pharmacy, the team should pick that up, probably on software they rely on to advise of potential conflicts. Since you don't know, yeah, I would at least say something. “Not so far” So I shouldn’t be concerned? Say something to the pharmacy? The doctor?

I was researching Multaq and came across a major interaction between it and amitriptyline. I only take low dose of amitriptyline at bedtime, 25 mg., to help me sleep and have for years. I’ve been on the Multaq for almost three months. My EP and the pharmacy I use should know I take both. Should I be concerned?

They sure did! Frustrating. I hadn’t seen a general cardiologist in many years before this. Obviously my EP thought it was enough to take me off flecainide, add a statin and aspirin. I still regret having the CT. Eventually prescribe Multaq. Thanks.

I will be telling my EP about stopping the aspirin at my appointment next month. I wanted to go off for a while and evaluate if the bleeding stopped. It hasn’t completely but it is much less frequent so I’m staying off the aspirin. Bottom line, it’s my decision, although I agree the doctor should be told. Can anyone here read the EKGs from the KardiaMobile? I’ve been in some sort of afib/flutter/tachycardia off and on for two days. This make me anxious. I have bone-on-bone arthritis in my knee and some severe spinal stenosis in my lower back. Because of the Eliquis all I can take is acetaminophen. I take it twice a day, occasionally three times. Never more than that. So less than the allowed dose. Safe or not?

So is flecainide completely safe taking 200 mg daily? When I try to reduce I have afib. My thyroid is usually to blame but not always. My last episode was at the end of June this year and that is when I increased flecainide from 100 to 200. My FT3 and FT4 have been normal for a while but TSH is still slightly low. I don’t know how many people here have thyroid issues but I’ve been dealing wit

I had a very symptomatic episode of afib beginning about 2:30 a.m. on Friday. Still going strong Saturday when I want to bed. I had trouble getting to sleep because of discomfort in my left jaw. The injection I had was Celestone 2 cc with 2 cc lidocaine. I probably won’t get one again. It has helped my knee but it certainly isn’t pain-free. My EPs NP answered my patient portal question and said it is hard to say at this point if it was the injection or coincidence. I have never had a reaction to vaccinations. But I don’t get them all.
