Also a Natale patient here. My blanking period was terrible, daily PACs starting from day 11 post surgery. They magically ended after 3 months when I got off the Flecanide. Literally the day after. Not sure if you are on Flec, but for some people it promotes irregular rhythm. Good luck.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow, do you cycle it or it's an everyday thing? May I ask why 10 vs the standard 5? Thx.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I take it but read some conflicting info online...some sites say to avoid if you have afib, some others say it's good for the heart. Any first hand experiences here? Thanks.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had an ablation with Dr Natale for PACs in August. First 11 days of pure bliss and then they came back with a vengeance DAILY for several hrs. I was literally desperate thinking it had failed, and I was dreading the 2 months mark cause that's when I was going to stop my meds (Felc+Met). Well, guess what...the day after I stopped my Flecanide, the PACs disappeared completely. Turns out fby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks everyone. Before Metoprolol I was normal at 110/70 on avg. I am a tall dude and especially when I bend over to pick stuff up I feel it when I go back up, feels dizzy. Hopefully stopping the magnesium taurate will help, as well as the body adjusting to no more Metoprolol.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Howdy. Always had normal BP in my life, that is til I started taking Metoprolol daily a yr or so ago. Had my ablation with Natale in August and in the last 3 weeks (2 months mark) stopped taking both Flec and Met. Thankfully my PACs seems to be gone for now, literally the day after I stopped Flecanide (Natale's team mentioned for some ppl it's a pro-arrhythmic...go figure!), but Iby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Another important point worth noting...if you are like me you are probably going to look for the best of the best when it comes to valve repair...which is what I did and he did a great job. So the million $ question is...can the best guy for the valve, also be the best at doing maze procedures? Probably not...and even if he is not the one doing it but one of his minions...the question is still thby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I highly doubt it was may valve repair to cause the crazy PACs given up until last check my valve still looks good and my overall heart function is great, therefore I can only assume it was the actual maze procedure that unleashed my PACs. Yes, obviously I am very happy they fixed my Afib and closed my appendage, but unfortunately in terms of symptoms, PACs feel just as annoying as a (slower)by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had mitral valve repair in 2021 with cryo maze procedure and LAA closure. While my Afib was gone as a result, I soon started getting daily PACs and was put on Met+Flec. I strongly believe the maze procedure, for whatever reason, unleashed my PACs, cause I never had them this severe, daily. Desperate, I reached out to Natale this yr and had an ablation with him 2 months ago. After 11 daby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Nah, I can't just ignore them, cause it feels like something is heavy in my chest, I feel lightheaded, short of breath, I feel like I don't want to do anything. This ain't life, I don't care if you call them Afib, PACs or Micky Mouse to be honest. Truly hope you wllby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM

Flec would be my best guess since it targets rhythm (instead of rate). But unfortunately for some ppl (me!) Flec does not work on its own unless combined with a betablocker....hence me dealing with very low BP in order to fight these stupid PACs that are sticking around even after my Ablation with Natale 40 days ago.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCindy L Greetings all…. I have had 2 “full” ablations by Natale -first was to the usual areas for afib, second was to isolate the LAA (I had flutter after ablation number 1). Then had a watchman put in this last summer (he also did a short Touchup due to some tachycardia that started about 6 months after ablation number 2). So we are now 6 months since my watchman and short Touchup, and I aby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotecornerbax @Susan, thank you again for your excellent info. From what I was told, because i'm 48 and have no other health issues and bloodwork/labs came back pretty flawlessly, the MitraClip wouldn't be something most doctor's would consider. You said you got your MitraClip at Cedars? Who was the doctor that did the surgery? I agree with you on getting the valve repaiby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotecornerbax thanks for the response. You did MV repair and a Maze but still had AFIB after the Maze procedure which required a further ablation? Any specifics on what the surgeon/doctor told you as to why that didn't correct the AFIB? Also, what type of valve repair did you get done and any reason you didn't consider a minimally invasive robotic valve repair? In my caseby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
41M here...had my first Afib episode at 34 and at that time was also diagnosed with MVP. Fast forward to when I turned 38 and had MV repair surgery, together with Maze Procedure for Afib. Valve was fixed perfectly, but still struggled with PACs so went for an ablation with Natale last month. Jury still out on whether it worked given I am still not out of the blanking period. QuotePompon Those PACs can be annoying, discomfortable or a cause of stress, but they're nothing to really worry about. At least if you don't have them all day long. If you do, it's maybe a little too much, and I think you might talk about them to your EP. Don't forget you're still in your blanking period. PACs may subside during the weeks to come. Thanks. Ok then...what do you think about this one...Afib, or Sinus Supra Ventricular Ectopy? Keep in mind all my episodes are at normal HR. Then I'll tell what Kardia saidby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
For what it's worth, I had maze in 2021, and recently RF with Natale, and so far I don't feel any improvements lol. If anything I am probably worse off given palpitations are now breaking through my max dosages of Flec and Met, which is something that before never happened. Am I the only one that has digestive/swallowing issues whenever on betablockers like Metoprolol? Kinda feels like a lump in the back of my throat when swallowing, but Drs said I have nothing. From what I read, the mechanism is as follows: betablockers are meant to "relax" HR and BP, and while they try to be precise in targeting certain organs (eg heart), in some ppl they also startby WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had mine with him last month but already know I will need another one. After only 10 days been having daily episodes that pop up in between my morning and nightly Flec/Met doses. So yeah..the beast is still alive and kicking and so far ZERO difference from pre to post procedure. Fun stuff.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interesting, you definitely know a lot about EKGs! Thank you very much for your insights, I appreciate it.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you. Yes I am thinking of getting Wellue's 12 lead ECG... it's tiny, can be used as an instant ECG or 24hr Holter, and it will do a much better job than anything else out there.by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Been using it for the last 2 yrs and seems it can never make up it's mind, calling an episode Afib during one reading, and then Supra Ventricular Ectopy the next (30 seconds later). Even when I showed it to my docs (cardio, EP etc) they all say "does not look like Afib to me, I can see the P waves". Curious....have you had an ablation with him, or about to? Or no ablation on the table for now?by WhyMe - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you very much Susan, but isn't it just like Metoprolol, a betablocker? Cause Met+Flec actually give me relief, but Met lowers my BP and HR too much (never had them high in the first place). And frankly, my whole point of going through an ablation was to avoid being always on meds. I am 40 and I suspect not the best scenario to be on these meds for another what, 30-40yrs? Well...I suspect I will also need to remain his patient lol cause so far my daily "supra ventricular ectopies" show zero sign of stopping, 3 weeks post ablation. So far I got zero relief from the procedure, these occur daily for a couple of hrs, just like before the ablation, and only stop when I take my morning and nightly Flecanide dosages.
