Was going to have an ablation, but I have anxiety and it was too high at the time to do. I was coming off atenolol and that causes anxiety. Now I have anxiety due to death in the family and stresses about my husband. I can't take anti anxiety pills, had a very bad experience with valium. Can't do benzos. Did you try anything else and did you get the same feeling? Did you mean off of it? I've only been off mine for 2 days, already thinking of not taking it. Did the metropolol do it also? It did with me, that and atenolol, quit both, afib got worse due to stress, I need something, but not sure what to doby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM

Do antiarrythmics help to keep afib from starting? Just got put on cardizm at hospital, hasn't stopped the afib, but wondering if it will eventually and then keep me from going into afib. Does it just help to control the symptoms? Thanksby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just got out of the hospital, they put me on cardizm, but it didn't stop the afib, does it take time to work? Any info would help, thanksby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for the info, I appreciate knowing more about what they do and the drugs they use, I'm glad yours is betterby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a naturopath do a DNA test on my foods, found many I was intolerant to so I avoid those, not sure if I could be missing something in my diet that could make a difference, it doesn't seem to help, but none have stood out as a problem. Having a hard time finding any triggers other than stress, 1 is cold food, that has triggered it, wish I could figure it out, thanksby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you, I'm going to suggest clonidine to the doctor, it's used off label for afib and anxiety, might just be my problem solver, thanks for the infoby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Right after I wrote this message, the afib stopped. One of my problems is, it only stays gone for just so long, a day, maybe 2, then when I lay down to go to sleep, it starts again, if only I could get it to stay gone until I can see the doctor next week. I need divine intervention right now so I can discuss the meds situation with the new doctor, instead of just any doc at the hospital. Again, tby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
It looks like I'm going to have to go to the hospital before I see my new doctor next week. So asking about an antiarrythmics is one of the options, however, I'm very sensitive to meds. I can't take anything for anxiety as I went through withdrawals off valium a few years ago and can't take any of those drugs. The only other thing that might work is clonidine, which is used ofby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wondering how long your afib has lasted, mine usually stops in about 12 hours, but I'm up to 60 hours this time, have almost gone to the hospital. Going if it doesn't stop soon. I had a shock recently of my dad passing somewhat unexpectedly, ramped everything up. I was having afib about once a week, now I've had it 3 times this last week, this time the longest, my anxiety has beenby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was having episodes about once a week, now every other day. My stresses are recent passing of my dad and upcoming surgery for my husband. I've been on eliquis for over a year. My system is currently very sensitive, very apprehensive about any of this, thank youby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
I would like to know what antiarrythmics most of you are on and how well they work and the tolerance you have on them. Beta blockers didn't work for me, seeing a new doctor soon and may have to go on one, I'm very sensitive to medications, thank youby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm wondering if anyone else has tried d ribose, whether it helped and how long it took to work. I'm seeing a new doctor on the 28th, but for the last year I've been trying some natural methods due to the fact I couldn't tolerate the side effects from the beta blockers, they didn't seem to help anyway. I just had some very stressful things happen and it has revved up my aby Nana - AFIBBERS FORUM
