Many thanks to those who responded. I finished a study with a heart monitor RhythmStar, which showed paroxysmal afib, as was expected. I also just completed the 2nd cardioversion (first one lasted 4 years), everything standard, except I requested a TEE test, which was granted, even though I’m on Eliquis compliantly. Had 2 procedures in about 15 minutes, TEE followed by CV while twi-lighted. The Tby autks - AFIBBERS FORUM
I came down with afib a week ago. My heart is in afib more than half the time, as noted by my Apple Watch. I had a cardioversion done about 3 years ago, was in persistent afib then. I was in NSR until last week. The cardiologist/EP says to wait until heart is in afib solidly for a day or more then consider cardioversion again. I eat healthy, don’t smoke, limited alcohol, am thin, very active in rby autks - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a MVR (mitral valve repair) and MAZE minimally invasive surgery at Penn in 2012. This was due to a severely leaky valve, and I was in constant AFIB at the time. Thereafter I had no recorded AFIB until 1/2021, when I had a CV. I have 2 thoughts about the study: 1. Could the MAZE procedure have kept me from getting tPA following a stroke while still at Penn? 2. Does the previous MAZE preby autks - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a stent placed in the LAD artery 10/3/22, and then had afib (12 lead) on 11/14/22! Since 11/14/22 nothing. I’m pretty sure my afib wasn’t entirely due to the stent, and my afib history is long and varied, nonetheless interesting.by autks - AFIBBERS FORUM
