How good is propafenone to control paroxysmal afib and can it be used as PIP instead of flecainideby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anyone have experience in Taking propafenone (Rythmol) to control afibby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
The new device applies stimulation while you are in afib. When you did it by your device, did you do stimulation while in afib or in betweenby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
In your case are you doing it daily for one hour? And what mode do you use? Might changing the frequency or duration help?by alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have paroxysmal afib with occurrences between 2 to 8 days.I take 60mh propranolol so my HR is seldom over 85. When I get afib I don't feel well, weak and mostly have to lie down and often sleep. I am retired so that is no problem. However it is a nuisance and if I would substitute daily digoxin for PIP would I stay in NSRby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I heard that in England they have a generic version of abixaban manufactured by Teva .I don't think it is available in the US but is the FDA working on approving it. Would it be equivalent to Eliquisby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I already tried this. But PiP works at present and converts in just a few hours. My motto if it works don't change itby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I already tried this. At 50mg 2/day nothing happened. When I increased to 75mg 2/day I became woozy, and did not feel well. Thats when I switch to PiP and started with the lowest amount. At present it worksby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have afib episodes every couple of days. At that point I take 100mg flacainide and go back to NSR within a few hours. I read in a recent post that that individual was told by his doctor to wait several hours to see if it converts and only then take the medication. Any thoughts?by alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
my BP is normal although on the low side. The shaky feelings I get before I take Flec. This is the way I know I am in afib. HR never exceeds 90 After taking flec, after about 2 hours I am back to normalby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am a 92 year old male with paryxmal afib. It occurs in between 3 to 7 days intervals. I am on propranolol and eliquis. When it occurs I get shaky, weak and tired. My HR is normal. I take 100mg Flecainide , go to bed and mostly sleep. After about 2 hours usually I am back to NSR. I wonder how people cope with persistent afib if they have the similar reactions and should mine turn persistent whatby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been on a beta blocker for the last 40 years. Used to be Atenolol but was changed to propanolol because it also controls essential tremors It keeps my normal HR between 65 and 80by alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have paroxysmal afib with occurrences about once a week. I am on propranolol 60mg. When it occurs I get weak, dizzy and have to lie down. My BP can drop down to 100 but my HR is usually about 80. I take 100 mg Flec and I am back to normal in about 2 hours. From what I read in these posts people go about their usual routines while in afib. Am I an outlier?by alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
How do you distinguish as having ectopic beats or afib. Will the Kardia device distinguish between them?by alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have paroxysmal afib coming on in between 2 an10 days intervals. HR usually below 90. Am on beta blocker. Take 100mg flecainide and it goes to NSR in less that 4 hours. Should I continue normal activities while in afib. Right now I usually rest. I am a 93yr maleby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have paroxysmal afib and am on propanolol 60mg. When I go into afib I take 100 flac. It stops usually after several hours. The thing is my HR stays steady in the normal range but my BP drops, sometimes the systolic going below 100 even after afib stopped. Is this to be expectedby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the input. Could you tell me where I can find this paperby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have paroxysmal afib and was on propanolol 60 ER. I then was put on flacainide 75mg 2/day. It works fine but now I am light headed most of the time and weak. Is this the expected side effect and will it go away over timeby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had the same thing several months ago. I stopped eliquis for 2 days and it took 3 days for the blood to diffuse. After that everything was nomalby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
In many ways you are right. There seems to be no long term or permanent solution either by drugs or procedures. I am a 92 year old male with a enlarged heart. I have been toying with either cardiovision or living with afib My HR is mostly less than 70 but I get dizzy and weak which passes. This might be preferable to the drug side effectsby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have paroxysmal afib that comes on about every other day. I am on propranolol 30mg and flacanaide 100 2/day. The flacanaide does not help. I also have an AV block. Does anyone have experience with Donedarone, how well it works and side effectsby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does anybody have and use a Withings Scanwatch as it pertains to afib. Would you recommend getting one considering the price How does it help you and how is their customer supportby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have had hi blood pressure for the last 40 years and been on beta blockers for all that time. Most posts talk about AF 3 or 4 times a year at high bpm. This is not my case and I am looking for someone who has a similar experience and what they are doing. Will talk to my cardiologist next week. He wanted to put me on amidiarone which I declinedby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have PAF every couple of days. The heart rate is around 70 but irregular. I am also on propanol 120mg. It mostly lasts only several hours but makes me shaky and weak. I Tried flecainide 50 2/d but it did not matter much. Should I try PIP starting with 100mg or increase the daily dose to 100. Will go to see the cardiologist next weekby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Does Flacainide regulate the electric impulses of the heart or does it reduce the bpm similar to a beta-blocker. In my case I have periodic AF but the bpm are always less than 80. So is taking Flacainide as PIP going to helpby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I don't know Since the AF is mostly silent and I find out I have it when I turn on my BP monitor. The only way I know about it because it shows u on anEKG which is 30 seconds longby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was recently diagnosed with AFbut my symptoms are different from what I read where most symptoms are tachycardia.spaced days and weeks apart. I have a KARDIA monitor which shows that my heart beats will vary between 40 and 130 bpm. Each episode is usually shorter than than 4 hours every couple of days So PIP is not an option. I am on Propranolol 120 and Eliquis Does anyone have similar experieby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the input. I am a 92 yr. old male with 3 leaky valves so ablation is not a solution. The amidiarone was prescribed by a cardiologist but I am not taking it. I think I will go back and suggest that he put me on flacainide though I read you have to start this in a hospital which i would not want to do. There is aso an other anti arrhythmic whose name I forget but it starts with Mby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have A Fib every 2 or 3 days lasting from 1 to 4 hours. HR at that time is 70. I take Eliquis. Doctor wants me to take Amidiarone. I don't ,too may bad side effects. Would there be any long term consequences if I did not do anythingby alfrae13 - AFIBBERS FORUM
