Thank you everyone for your comments and information, which is most helpful. I will follow doctor's direction on blood thinners and monitor heartrate as I am directed to reduce dosage of Solotal. Blessings, Rattana :+)by rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Greetings, It has now been one month since my ablation.I have 2 questions. 1. SOLOTAL It has been almost 3 weeks that I am on Solotal 60 mg 2 times a day. The doctor switched me to Solotal from Metropolol because my heart went back into afib after 4 days. Solotal brought me back into normal rhythm in 6 hours and I have stayed there. The doctor (nurse practitioner) told me to stay on Soby rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Tony, I had my first ablation 2 weeks ago. I was out of afib for 4 days and then back into afib. They changed my medication from metropolol to Sotalol first for 120 mg am and pm. I was not put in the hospital, but I had to get an ekg 3days in a row after my first dose. I took my first dose Wed the 4th at 7:00 am. Still in afib 2 hours later at the ekg. Then 4:30 pm with my Kardia aptby rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jeff. Yes my doctor prescribed armor thyroid and has has me on it for years. The cardiologist reduced the dosage from 90 to 60 mg after I got afib and monitors the blood work. It seems to be a good dosage. Yes, always good to check these things. :+)by rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just talked to the doctor's office and they said to stay on 60 mg 2 times a day for one month! Yikes. I might as well check out for one month. Rip van Winkle style. I do have an appointment next Tuesday the 17th, so I will ask again. In the meantime if anyone has any suggestions on alternatives or any experience with lower doses please let me know. I asked and they don't suggest anby rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you so much Carey! I will call the dr. office and ask. What are other alternatives that don't suck the life out of you, but still stop afib? I must need something to stop afib since I went back only 4 days after the ablation. Did anyone else have the experience of going back into afib and then later staying in normal when the heart heals (without this harsh medication.)? Tby rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dear Afib friends, I finally had my ablation procedure Tuesday July 27. (two weeks ago tomorrow) It lasted 3 hours and I was told that Dr. Jigar Patel said it all went very well. My first prognosis of afib was end of January when my doctor sent me to emergency and I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights. 2 cardioversions got me out of afib for about a week each time. So I opted for the ablatby rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes, thanks to David I got a KardiaMobile and check my heart with its EKG at least 2 times a day. I just send the 'reports' to the dr and then have a video consultation. Fabulous! The first time I went into afib I had pain and had to go into the doctor office to get an EKG. Second time Kardia told me. Just called the dr, talked to her, and we proceeded. Hi David and Everyone! Thank you so much David for introducing me to the forum. I have already received valuable information from generous members. I understand that except for George what we do can be beneficial for overall health, but not for taking us out of AFIB. That is my result so far too. Greetings, I sleep primarily on my back with shorter periodic periods on my right side. I need a small pillow on my right side to prop up my left arm to prevent stress on my neck and left shoulder. Resting on the left side for 11 - 20 minutes after lunch helps digestion and possibly balances the right side sleeping at night. Rattana :+)by rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you for this useful information and about your path, which seems like you have gotten your afib under control with your practices. That is impressive. Did you ever have an abalation? Nothing I have done like breathing and rhythmic meditation got me out of afib. I can slow my heart rate down to 58 but still in afib. I am trying some herbs and other body work treatments now. Hi George, Thank you for the suggestions. I will ask the doctor about a med for rhythm. I think diltiazem (the first med she had me on) was for rhythm (?) but it made my ankles swell so she changed to metoprolol. I will ask her about what you suggest. Yes I am in good health. I take magnesium. I feel I am on the right dose when my legs don't cramp when I wake up. I will get some potassiby rattana - AFIBBERS FORUM
