Best step ever. All best with it. Really best move I ever made. Let us know how you get onby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Vanlith Thanks for the detailed reply which is super helpful. Really pleased to hear that the Triple Calm Mag worked for you. I am more than happy to give it a try. I note that its harder to get in the UK and is a bit pricey through Amazon, who I am keen to avoid if possible However, I will try. Thanks too for letting me know the threshold for PACs to be considered for an ablation. I dontby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone Hope you are all well. I wonder if anyone can advise me? I had an ablation a year ago. I did well on it but just 2 weeks ago, I suddenly noticed a change to my heart rhythm. I noticed extra beats and sent my watch ECG readings to the AF nurse at Royal Brompton (UK here) who said I was in sinus but with occasional PAC. Since then I have noticed my heart rhythm being very incoby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just to add that its made me double down on my health regime. To those folk who have had an ablation, have you reverted back to pre-afib lifestyle? I think I have been heading that way big time - so this is a wake up call. One further point, the PACs seem to have reduced but by no means have they disappeared.by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey and Pompon. This is all spot on advice and reassuring. They seem to have reduced and Im sure the result of an indulgent weekend. Back on track. All best to youby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey lovely affibers I hope you are all doing well. I wonder if you might be able to give me your advice? I had an ablation almost exactly a year ago. I have felt a new person since then and freed from the dread of an afib attack. It has been blissful. I have felt very healthy and maybe have let my diet and exercise slide as a result. I have put on weight since then - around 10lbs extra.by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Brian_og - the only way I can describe it is that it feels like there is a slight overcharge in my body electrics. I can sense it in my chest and face. - slight vibration. Weird. I have not had this since my blanking period. has your buzz disappeared?by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Carey. That is reassuring in some ways. I really dont want to damage an ablation. I had it on 13th April 2021 at Royal Brompton in London. So, if alcohol might trigger new AF - then I need to knock it 100% on head! - which is a challenge!by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Susan. No. I should have taken a reading so I cant confirm it was AF but it definitely felt odd and almost heading to an episodeby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well. Sorry not to be on here for a while and thanks to everyone who supported me over my ablation 8 months ago. Things have been going well since then and I have been in sinus rhythm except for a few small incidences one month in the blanking period. My heart rhythm has felt stable - so much so, that my drinking has crept up over the weekends in the paby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey everyone Hope you are all doing as well as can be. Just thought to give an update. I have not had an episode in three weeks now. This is the longest gap without an episode for nearly 3 years. Just before my ablation I was having around 3 episodes a week and it was seriously getting me down. For anyone reading this and thinking of an ablation, I would definitely go for it. I thoughtby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carey - much appreciate the input and wisdom. I'm starting to use 4-7-8 breathing as a circuit breaker when I feel the stress rising! wolfpack - thanks for the insight and perspective. Very reassuring - but I do not know how you hopped on a treadmill so quick after an ablation!!! For 10 days, I kinda felt like I was hit by a truck! Good it had no longterm impact on you!by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey there everyone. Hope you are keeping well. So, i'm still finding my beat in the blanking period and its not been completely smooth sailing. Tomorrow marks the 4th week since my ablation in the UK. In this time, ectopics seem to have stopped but all in all I have had two long afrib episodes (14-20 hours) and two short episodes (less than 5 minutes). All have converted on their own. Hey BobsBeat As Carey thoughtfully put it, sorry you have had to find this forum. I dont have anything to add to the comments already posted but just to say that all these people have been a great source of support to me on my journey, which is hugely appreciated -. so you are in the right place. I wish you all the very best with your journey and your health.by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you Carey, Ken and vanlith for the perspectives. Its really appreciated. I finally converted to NSR after 20 hours!!! I like the idea of a full raging river keeping the wild electricity at bay!!! Bring it on please!by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Ken 1.25mg Bisporolol daily. Been on them for a few years. Im on Eliquis for 6 weeks now with another 6 weeks to do. Thats it. I think Im moving between an afib and a flutter experience today......by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Greetings all Hope you are in good health. So, two weeks to the day of my ablation, I came back from a walk and noticed a strange rumbling - familiar and dreaded - and I have now been in afib for a few hours. It seems much less turbulent than before the ablation which is good but I am a bit bummed about it, TBH! I know all this is possible during the blanking period and does not indicate suby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotevanlith The Ablation cut the connection but cannot stop the root cause somewhere in our body that does this to us in the 1st place. ..... pay little mind to your stress or other triggered funny beats. As long as it is not the BIG 1 aka an ARR you/me and everyone who has had an ablation then......we're laughing. vanlith, you speak the truth!! Quotevanlith well just shrug and say to yourself....i was expecting some action early so no big deal.... So, this has also been useful to hear. My HR has been around 75bpm since the ablation. Up from around 55, but this morning i think I had my first little run of ectopics which seem to have stopped after a couple of hours. I think they were brought on from getting excited about potentiallyby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteJoyWin No hum...but 3 weeks post ablation body trembles inside as if I'm in AF but I'm not? Particularly if I'm doing strenuous exercise and/or sitting quietly. Does the top of the heart still fire up even tho it's been ablated? Thanks JoyWin, yes, I have noticed something like this too, like I'm about to go into AF or in AF but then nothing. I also feel sometimesby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ok folks, strange topic here I know, but does anyone else have a sense of mild electric humming sensation running through the body - particularly the head???! I am day 4 post ablation and have a weird sensation that I can almost feel my body's electricity as if I am producing too much or its now directed along a different pathway. Im sure there's a joke in there too about holding a lighby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotevanlith Great Blu.....my advice going forward is don't take things that happen to your heart too seriously in the 1st few weeks at least as i had 6 ARR in the 1st 2 weeks then another 1 month later before bliss to this day....Plus doing that if your heart does act up in the blanking period.....well just shrug and say to yourself....i was expecting some action early so no big deal....+ iby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks NLAMA and Carey! Appreciate your messages and hope all is very good with you both!by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey everyone Just a quick update - I'm through the ablation and EP is optimistic about it. I am SO relieved to have it behind me. Thanks for all the brilliant suggestions and Juggsy75 - you are spot on about the RB. Im so proud of the NHS! How lucky are we to have such an amazing service!!! Just to say that Carey's advice was spot on. I am very glad I shaved before. In fact, I shoby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks everyone. Good advice so far. @Pompon - thanks for the reassurance @Carey - I have begun shaving @stranger - Royal Brompton @NotLyingAboutMyAfib and @susan.d - Good idea but unfortunately, due to Covid, I am not allowed anyone with me. I have to go solo on this. However, I will be kept overnight as standard so will hopefully have a chance to hear all the info in a clearer staby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Howdy all. Just competed my pre-ablation tests —including Covid test— and now have to self-isolate before my ablation on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, due to increased afib episodes recently, I have a deeper conviction that this is the right course of treatment. Over the last year, I have moved from a position of thinking that an ablation was to be avoided at all costs to being gratefulby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
Howdy all Does anyone else get gas when they are afibbing? I know there's literature and posts about the relationship between afib and the stomach. Many are concerned with acid reflux or gastro issues. However, Im referring to something very different. Im talking about having gas either just before the start of an episode (like a warning sign) and then continuously for the durationby ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
So, after having no episodes for a while, I now have had 2 episodes within two days! Currently in one now. While its really horrid to have this, I am clearly convinced that I need an ablation. I am tired of this impacting on my life - and just hope the ablation does its trick! Two weeks to go!by ElectroBlu - AFIBBERS FORUM
