Thanks Carey I’m glad I was able to clarify. Update: I had to discontinue Multaq due to terrible side effects. I am now on Propafenone 150mg 3x a day. I’m experiencing PVC’s mainly at night but they now seem to be subsiding. I’m scheduled for an EKG this week to ensure I don’t have prolonged QT. I’m also wearing a heart monitor for the next 2 weeks. I’m scheduled to see my EP doctor the 1st weekby Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks for the info. Probably best I provide additional background info about my situation; of note, I’ve had mitral valve repair. I now have significant TR and significant RA enlargement. In May 2021 I had my second ablation (1st one in December 2020 by another EP, my current EP is one of the best in NY). A few hrs after my second ablation I was back in afib and underwent an unsuccessful cardiovby Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
So I’ve had two heart ablations within the past year. After the first one I was back in afib 2 days later. My EP suggested giving tykosyn a try but unfortunately I developed QT and had to stop it. Two months later I went to an EP at NYU Langone. He performed another ablation in May and put me on Amiodarone. I have been taking Amiodarone for 7 months and have had no issues. I’ve not been in afibby Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Is anyone familiar with this vest and if so how effective are they during an ablation? Thanks!by Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
I had a cardio version right before I left the hospital and was back in nsr. However, my heart rate increased a few hours after I got home.by Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks and I’m happy to share my info. I’m 61 and live in NY. I went into afib in 8/2020. I’m considered to be in persistent afib since After multiple cardio versions and an ablation in December I’m considered to be in persistent afib. I was on metoprolol until my second ablation this week. I’m now on amiodarone for the next 2 weeks but my heart rate is between 150-153. (It’s never been this highby Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Just had my second ablation and was given amiodarone to take since I’m still in afib, does anyone have any advise. Has anyone been on amiodarone before and did it help? Thanks!by Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’m looking for a recommendation for an electrophysiologist at NYU Langone. Thanks!by Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all for your feedback. I’ve been told my EP doctor is one of the best in NYU. I’ll let you know in 2 weeks after my next ablation. Wish me luck!by Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’ve been in constant afib for 8 months now. Had a number of cardio versions and only stayed in NSR for 2 hours. Also had an ablation, NSR lasted 2 days. Two months later I tried the anti arrhythmic drug Tikosyn. Unfortunately I developed prolong QT and the medication was stopped. I’m now scheduled to have another ablation the end of the month with another EP in NY. I’m hoping this time it’s succby Mabmedz - AFIBBERS FORUM
