Shannon, thank you for keeping this site well and alive. I remember the first time I ventured into this site, seeming without any hope for the future. After many trials and tribulations and doctors who had no ideal of how to solve the problem besides medication and electo-shock. I remember a doctor who told me, AF will not kill you just live with it. Yes, it was easy for him to say just live withby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was in permanent AF for two years, at 140-160 BPM. After an ablation with Dr. Natale, which lasted about two hours, I have been AF free for six years and counting.by Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
I haven't been in the forum for several years. Glad to see my old friend Shannon keeping it alive. I should have came in and helped people with this nightmare that, for me, lasted about fifteen years. As you know it starts out slowly then , in most cases, progressive gets worse. I was seeing one of the most respected cardiologist in Hawaii. Flecinaide worked well for a long time then stoby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
This site was a life saver. I had no ideal how to deal with the issue of atrial fibrillation. This site got me through the tuff times. Thanks Hans so very much. The site will be in very good hands with Shannon.by Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
I think the lesson to be learned is this, though we are on the road to recovery, we still need to take care of all the details. Thanks everyone.by Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM

I had a LAA ablation with Dr Natale in Austin on June 28, 2013. Everything has been going well, a few bumbs here and there, but overall very good results. Today I did my swim as usual, I was due a cumidin test and had that done. When I returned home I statred having dizzy specials, seemed a little hard to breath. I used the blood pressure test that showed a 90/70 blood pressure. I usually go aby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, I have no ideal if the pericardium is still intact. I doubt it. They had to go in twice to replace the mitral valve. They tried to seal it the first time and that failed. Is the pericardium important to seal the LAA? Tom in Hawaiiby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's great news Shannon. I may have to go through that in another four months. Hopefully not. Doesn't sound like much fun. It's been six weeks since my LAA ablation in Austin. Everything is going excellent. I'm doing about 2 hours of beach time at Hickam five days a week. Tom in Hawaiiby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shannon, remember what you always tell us, you are in the best possible hands. I think I will have a date with the Lariat procedure probably in December. Everything looks great so for with the ablation and isolation of the LAA. If a touch up is needed I assume it will be done sometime in late September. Dr Natales' office has talked about a tee to determine if my mitral valve and LAA can woby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Shannon, and thanks for being there for everyone you have no ideal what a comfort you are, reading your correspondence is like a valium shot. It is a pretty scary ordeal until you get out of the lab and then you know it is worth it. Two weeks yesterday of NSR. I just don't think anyone should pass up the chance to have this procedure done by Dr Natale. He may not always be there anby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
Mike, I started having afib attacks when I was about 55 years old. Flec stopped them for many years, though I would have them for about eight miserable hours every three are four months. Then the afib would come more often and stay longer. June 28, 2013, Dr Natale did the ablation in Austin. I feel better than I have felt in fifteen years. There is no reason to wait. There is a good chance thby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM

Dan, I just got back from Austin and have a procedure with Dr Natale on June 28. Things keep getting worse with the flutter staying longer which each day. At this point I have to get this fixed it will not just go away. I want to thank you Dan for being there two years ago when no hope seemed in sight. It meant a lot to correspond with someone who had been through this type of nightmare.by Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
It has really been a long twelve years. I have suffered atrial fibrillation for that long. It would come and go. 2010 atrial flutter started to take over and it stayed for long periods with fibrillation coming and going. Mutac was tried and that made everything worse. So, I let a EP talk me into doing the flutter ablation in Honolulu, in June 2011. It was a disaster. I have posted about it hereby Tom in Hawaii - AFIBBERS FORUM
