Smackman, I'm sure it will go well on the 17th. Our thoughts are with you.by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm so pleased to hear that the Watchman procedure is an easy one. I've had 2 previous ablations with Natale for my afib and they were longer surgeries. (I meant to PM you, Carey, but wasn't sure how to do so w/ the new format. Btw, great job on this). Anyway, I've had silence on getting the Watchman scheduled with Natale's office. It's been strange since it was pby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

I've recently gone from osteopenia into osteoporosis at age 74. The degree of osteoporosis isn't bad, but metrics are metrics. I've taken low to no calcium supplementation for maybe 6-7 years, but have had dietary calcium. I've taken magnesium during this time span since I hear it's helpful for afib. I eat healthily and exercise. Am not bothered by general body symptomsby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm looking into following a modified keto diet. Seem from what I've initially learned is that very low calorie/carb veggies are fine on the diet and encouraged.by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
--Just wanted to share about a new magnesium supplement found at my local health food store. It's Magnesium Breakthrough by Bioptimizers. Has 7 forms of magnesium. (Chelate, Citrate, Bisglycinate, Malate, Taurate, Orotate, and Sucrosomial.by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

cornerbax, FWIW, I just returned to Los Angeles from Austin where I got my second ablation with intent to 'isolate' the LAA. My understanding from the Austin team was that often, especially in women, the tissue around the LAA can be very active in producing arrthymias, especially if the areas aorund the pulmonary veins had already been ablated at a first ablation. I just wanted to interject that there's a websie that many doctor's use that gives info on reactions between pharmaceuticals and supplements/ herbs/ etc. I don't recall the name of it and possibly there's more than one out there, but when I checked to see if I could access one that a doctor had used on my behalf awhile back, I found the subscription to be extremely price-y. I tried Ribose at two different times based on Dr. Sinatra’s love of it. I never felt anything from it, either.by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I just had my 2nd ablation (a LAA isolation) with Natale in Austin and had a talk with the Anesthsiologist before hand in regards to my concerns about general anesthesia having effects on brain health. (There’s history in my family of Alz D). He remarked that ‘cumulative’ amounts of the gas type of anesthesia can affect brain health in some cases and suggested that he and the nurse anesthesiologiby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi all. I have a familial (and personal) history of depression. It tampered off once I hit my 30's, but I've always had a tendency toward low serotonin. (A test w/ Genomind last year revealed I have 2 Variants which can affect mental health. One is 5HT2C- Serotonin Receptor, and the other MTHFR). Being interested in alternative health, I'd take tryptophan or 5HTP to keep me smilby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

I stayed at the Midtown Holiday Inn in May, 2023 for my first ablation with Dr. Natale and it was fair, but think I'd like an alternative place when I go back in August. I don't need ultra fancy, but appreciate cleanliness and acessable restaurants, either at the hotel or nearby. Thnaks for any recomendations. Dr. Natale did a very good initial ablation, but this time around he planby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
Betty Lou, like you, I was looking forward to what others would say on this topic, and it seems strange that more folks wouldn't have some input. Hmmm. Anybody?by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
Betty Lou, your drink sounds delicious!! Maybe share the recipe? --I opened a can of sustainably caught skinless sardines from Costco this morning and absolutely LOVED them. (I've never liked sardines in the past).by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've routinely taken Nordic Naturals omega 3 fish oils to the tune of under 1000 mg/day (a capsule am and pm). I've always watched for easy bruising as I take them, along with any other 'blood thinning' supplments, since I'm on 5 mg Eliquis twice/day. This past year my skin and eyes have become extremely dry so I'm considering starting the high quality omega 3 supplby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

I take Kal Brand Magnesium Orotate 200 mg. That's 200 mg in 4 capsules, so 50 mg in one. I've had people on this forum say the orotate form doesn't absorb well. But I've always liked it. It doesn't cause diarrhea which is nice, too. I've tried many forms of Mag. The glycinate form relaxes me too much, which figures as glycine's a relaxing amino acid. / I'by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hello, I have a friend who's 85 and looking into a first time ablation, consulting with a few local docs. One doc had told her she might be too old. My friend has always been active as a long time hiker, eats a balanced diet, and is a good weight. I thought I'd ask general opinions from this forum, knowing that it would be 'blind' and 'general' feedback. (Btw, I&by californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM

QuoteSdweller I'll be very interested to see how it goes off the Flecainide for you... I've been on the Flec for 3 years since my ablation, which did not work and had to stay on the Flec...everything was great until a few weeks ago, and i started having some runs of svt and a few short bursts of afib. I've upped the dosage so hoping it will hold. Good luck I'm hoping you willby californiagal - AFIBBERS FORUM
