I posted this a few months ago (below) regarding my a-fib journey and didn’t realize it was 70 pages deep. So for those that didn’t see it, here it is: “I haven’t posted in awhile and wanted to give everyone an update. So, the Flecanide failed. I haven’t posted in awhile and wanted to give everyone an update. So, the Flecanide failed. Anytime I’d get a bit tired or overheated from working, my heart would go back into its state of palpitations. I literally would have to stop what I was doing, sit down, and just wait until it would go away. I finally thought to myself, IM TIRED OF THIS! I can’t live this way the rest of my life. Wow, your situation sounds sounds just like mine. I’m on 50 mg of flecainide twice a day and lately I’ve been having PACs that scared the hell out of me. I told my EP at the Cleveland clinic I just can’t live like this any longer. I’m afraid to exercise and And I’m just waiting for the next episode. I may have to get Natale a call….by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
The acupuncture (as far as I could tell) did help, however it was $100 a session and I was having it once a week. I had to stop going for awhile and wish I didn’t, just recently my PACs have returned so I’m scheduling an appointment next week immediately! I’m so tired of this. I even gave up alcohol for a month and it didn’t make a difference (even though docs insisted it was contributing to tby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Interestingly enough, I’m still on the Flecanide but backed off on the acupuncture a few weeks ago…and guess what, I’m having the PACs again. I immediately scheduled my next acupuncture appointment on Friday. I’m hoping the combination of both will relieve this nuisance.by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Well, it’s been about a month since my EP started me on Flecanide. I have to admit, the PACs have decreased significantly but I also want to let everyone know I’ve started a regimen of acupuncture as well. Since Western medicine has somewhat failed me I’m looking to the East. Now, whether or not it’s the acupuncture or the Flecanide..I don’t know. But I am feeling more comfortable and the PACby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
EP says they are PACs and has me on flecanide now. We will see how this turns out, I’m hoping it at least can stop the PACs as they are incredibly disturbing—even though I’m always told they’re nothing to worry about. I wish my body felt that way!!by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I always come to this website because it’s good to know you’re not alone. My PACs started after my ablations. Up until then, I had none…just the occasional “twice a year” a-fib. For me, the PACs hit when I’m resting and even though my EP says they are harmless…it’s like someone unplugging me and plugging me back in. My entire body shudders and I feel like I just got rebooted. The PACs are anby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Not sure If everyone read my post in-depth but I never had these symptoms before the surgeries. My heart DOES skip a beat as I’m checking my pulse while this is happening. it beats about 6 or 7 times then just pauses (skips a beat) when I’m having these episodes. The next beat is delayed and it’s quite strong. It sends a shudder down my spine and it feels like someone unplugged me and “reboby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
It’s the same for me. When I do get the occasional a-fib, it’s always when I’m resting. When I’m moving about and awake during the day, I’m fine, If I sit in my easy chair for a few hours, sometimes all of a sudden I get an ectopic session for a few minutes then it goes away. I wish I was 21 again when I never had any of these issues.by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello everyone. I haven’t posted here in awhile so let me tell you my story (I’ll try and make it brief) When I was in my 40s, about once a year I was having long episodes of atrial fibrillation. Flash forward to 2019 and I’m 54 years old- the episodes are more frequent and more debilitating. August 2019 I have my first ablation. Didn’t take. November 2020 I have second ablation at Clevby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
From reading the responses I see that everyone has had different results. I guess the heart is a fickle thing and I’ll just have to learn to live with it. Id hope the episodes weren’t so bad, it really takes me out. I get light headed, my chest feels like a frog is jumping around in it and I can’t sleep or concentrate. I wish I was one of those people that really don’t feel their arrhythmia.by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie, you aren’t alone. Ever since my ablation I noticed that sleeping on my left side always made my heart a bit jumpy. Some nights were worse than others but I discovered that if I elevated by hard and back a bit instead of laying flat on my side, it seemed to improve the results. Since my surgeries I can never lay flat or my heart gives me a fit. Not sure why? Strange how our bodies cby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
I’m wearing the Zio for a second time. I told the nurse when she was taping it on me that the glue doesn’t work when you sweat...and I was right, again. Had to tape it back after about a week after sweating it off during some exercise on a hot day. Happened to me both times when I wore it. Only a week to go, can’t wait to get it off.by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
You’re not alone, I definitely feel lightheaded and dizzy. The only good thing for me is I know when I convert because that all goes away when I convert into a sinus rhythm. That is the best feeling ever.by tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
In my case, I’m very, very sensitive to caffeine. My husband can tell when I’ve had it; my behavior is much more excitable and I can do laps around the block. Only problem is later (especially in the middle of the night), I wake up in an episode of a-fib. Sometimes overdoing it on booze will trigger it as well, especially palpitations! When I laid off the booze for a week my palpitations disby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello, everyone. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve relied on this website to get me through my episodes of atrial fibrillation. I thought it was time to create an account and post and share my story since I’m up again (at 2:35AM) in another episode of atrial fibrillation. I began to have atrial fibrillation in my late 30s. It was a rare occurrence and maybe flared about once a year..if tby tallguy31 - AFIBBERS FORUM
